Abissmal service

Post by b7sedan » Wed Mar 05, 2008 12:10 am

Car in for first service.
Arrived at 4.30, waited 20 mins, further 20 mins booking car in where they went through what needed doing.
Arrived 5.00 tonight to pick car up waited 25 mins, went through items:
Leaking front shocks.
Small leak from auxillary rad under front bumper.
Asked them to rebalance two wheels but they just didnt bother.
This is the same dealer who damaged an alloy and refurbed it thinking I wouldnt notice.

Doesn't sound good. Just to get this straight; you arrived the day before at 4.30 and then picked it up the following day at 5.00pm.

In all honesty from experience they might have identified the aux. rad. leak but these parts are normally on back order and they probably don't keep shocks in stock, so another part to be ordered.

The only bad bit is that they didn't phone to advise you of this unless you had specifically asked for the car back the next day to which they would say they were conforming to your requests and upon you collecting are advising you of problems that means you need to book your car in again when they have the parts. It's a pain in the arse but not unheard of and certainly what my local frnachise does.

As for rebalancing wheels just go to a alloy and tyre specilist, they'll do it usually for pennies of nothing at all in order to win future business out of you.

The wheel weights used on the oem wheels look alot better than the horrid ones that were put on when i had a puncture.
I have calmed down a bit now but I was more peed off with having to wait 45 mins in total. The staff were good its just that they are massivley understaffed.
Looking at the previous post it looks like they need a specific tool to recharge the drc system as the connections get removed when replacing the shocks, is this still the case?

IIRC yes, that and they wouldn't stock replacements should they have any other problems with them which they would look to have on site whilst doing the work
