If you buy a NA car and expect to be able to sit in 6th and get going (coz you're too bloody lazy to shift down? I mean where is the fun in driving if all you have to do is hit the loud pedal?) you'll always be disappointed.

Get the car into the powerband and enjoy.

A 996TT will kick a B7 RS4 with its in-gear acceleration times, but its not really a fair comparison. Drop a gear and the RS4 will stick with the turboed Porsche till well into 3 figures.

And in the wet....no comparison with most 2WD monsters.

Is there a faster four door saloon around the Nurburgring?

I don't think so...

I bet it'll be faster than the new RS6 around the 'Ring inspite of giving away 140+hp...
Yeehah!! dude.
love your commentary.

Just so I understand the 7:58 that I've seen previously - I assume this is full lap not BTG?

Not sure, but i believe all quoted times are BTG.

The Walter Rohl B7 RS4 time with sticky rubber is within the widely regarded best Nordschleife lap times list. I can't recall whether these are BTG or not. IIRC the difference between BTG & full lap is 15 seconds.

No offence, well not much, but I find it hard to believe that someone with such bad spelling, grammar, and punctuation could sustain the vocation and income required to own such a car.

For the RS4 vs new RS6 discussion, I believe the RS6 has managed to achieve 8:11 to 8:13

I've had a look - it seems like the 7:58 is either the full circuit (so you'd need to take off about 25 seconds for BTG) or full circuit up to Grandstand 13 (which would mean taking just 18 seconds off for BTG)

Either way, your time sounds mighty impressive

Cheers.

TBH i can't recall how the WR best time was measured. Not sure full lap is 25 seconds more than BTG, as it's only half the back straight incorporating little more than the exit/entrance which if on it is travelled well in excess of 150MPH. All happens that quickly though, you could be right

The WR lap was full circuit from what I've read.

Or for those that don't live on planet Zob and do not speak Zoblin then here is an approximate translation:

"I purchased a late 2001 B5 RS4 but sold it to purchase an RS6 (it had bigger turbo’s and a Milltek already fitted), I then purchased a late 2006 B7 RS4 Avant but only kept it a week. I think Audi have ruined their good name, the B7 in my opinion is not as good as the older version B5 Avant.
Well that’s my opinion, what do you think? Having said that, the brakes on the B7 are brilliant.
I also feel that for a niche model, Audi produced too many B7 RS4’s.
In other words, Audi (in my opinion) over produced."

  What a wonky lad.
