Black optics pack after market kit?????

Post by rAudiguy » Sat Mar 01, 2008 8:28 pm

Does anyone know if you can have the black optics pack fitted as an after market kit? minus the cans..... I like mine silver and shinny.

So front grill surround, window surrounds and boot lid lip.

cheers

Jim

Or is there anyone out there who would like to swop from Black to silver trim on a saloon?????

I've looked into changing the window trim and its a nightmare. I believe you would also need to replace the rear door glass windows to do this.

I think when we costed one up there was over £100 just in clips - not to mention the very physical, fiddly and time-consuming job of fitting it all (nightmare!).

I think this is one of those jobs where Audi employ some very clever trained gremlins to install the parts.

Its easier and neater to get the trim painted, in the colour of the car, without removal.
I had mine done in ebony black and looked far superior to factory satin black.
plus cheaper too :)

From what I can tell the best thing to do is see if you can find someone with SS who would like to swop for the standard set up.

Is there any chance the paint would start to chip/flake off after a while?
