clutch and flywheel
Hello had lots of problems with my clutch 1st clutch blew at 1900 miles which was changed under warranty went back in at 4000 miles to have a pipe fitted ? under warranty, never been totally happy with clutch .At 12400 miles could not get car in gear, audi cardiff told me clutch gone again and i have to pay £650 with audi uk making a good will gesture and parts discount from dealer, after arguing with audi uk got price down to £350 .Today audi cardiff told me my flywheel is damaged, blue in colour and warped and want nearly £700 for a new one because not covered by warranty, they are blaming all this on my driving stlye-the car has never been on a track and not had clutch problems with other cars, do not think driving stlye should be used as an excuse when the car purpose is to go fast, had car 21 months and not used as every day car, anybody got any ideas do not want to pay for this work to be done and have problem come back again also not very happy with audi attitude both uk and dealer thanks
RE: clutch and flywheel
Argue the toss with them and if your not getting anywhere threaten them with legal action and see if that works.
The court route is costly so your probably better off selling it to another dealer as is, if thats possible.
It surprises me how many problems the RS4 has, seems almost every member here has had some sort of problem with their car.

RE: clutch and flywheel
There have been several issues with clutches on the RS4 - mine being one for a brief moment but seems fine now - but here is a link on the TT forum, it's a lengthy read but stick with it and read it all, it's quite frightening in areas where Audi and/or the dealer are trying to squirm out of it.

Basicaly, be persistant and even use this link as part evidence in your quest. DO NOT pay anything as this means you are admitting to some form of blame.
Hope that helps and you get it sorted in the end.

Yes follow Graham's advice, PAY NOTHING, if you still have a stone wall after talking to "Audi C services", get in touch with;
www.motoringlawyers.com
08007 83 55 87
get advice and a price to take on your case.
Audi should pay for all these failed components.
I was lucky with my RS4 I had NO such issues.

Re: RE: clutch and flywheel
Mine wasn't a car problem, it was a cr.p dealer problem (not clearing the basic settings after the 0080 engine ECU SW upgrade).t_urbo wrote:It surprises me how many problems the RS4 has, seems almost every member here has had some sort of problem with their car.

Has this solved your problem with the character of the engine response (i.e. feeling more like an S4 than an RS4) being lost following the 0080 update?
Did the local dealer admit to screwing up the firmware update - not clearing the settings. Not Camberley Audi by any chance? I told them to leave it with the original f/w version. Feel free to PM.
Cheers
