I bought an RS4 cos theyre really understated. I had an E46 M3 before and i used to get funny looks and all that stuff, i was worried about parking it as well. People would either go ''nice car mate'' or ''w@nker''. Didnt like the attention.

At least in the RS you can park it and not worry, plus the 4WD makes sense with the weather we have as the M3 can be a bit lairy in the wet.
Agreed - and to further add to that...

I bought the RS because it's the car I've wanted since 18, have worked in IT since 18 (hence need room in my car for stuff) and am a practical kind of person anyhow i.e. if my girlfriend should fall pregnant now, I don't need to change my car as it's already as practical as I'm going to need it!

Same script really, I've always preferred larger cars, I had a mk6 escort Si as a first car followed by an E46 BMW coupe and now the merc saloon. I like the fact the cars are subtle and understated but with the power and specifications to match with a good level of comfort and safety. People driving nice cars is one things but that combined with being young, people instantly judge you and I don't like that

27 also here, and come from an E46 M3 cab... Insurance can be a little nasty, even at this age... but that is nothing compared to the fuel bills!! I hope your prepared Tilly...

Re RS4 fuel bills Pffft, that's nothing. I get roughly 15mpg, at £75-80 a tank. Just don't think about it. ;-)

P.s. I was once quoted £9,750 for a year's insurance on an XR3i when I was 18. The car was only £3,750 to buy! Hence why I didn't go for it.

Whilst I have a few friends with M3s and the like, most have Rover 25 or company Alfas. I guess what I am trying to say is that if you can afford to own and run an S/RS consider yourself lucky, many are those that dream of having your cars, whatever the age. :)

Insurance @ 22 is £2000 for me. Would say its worth it but i hardly use the car.
Im suprised at the average age too. I would expect a min of 30 TBH.

So, there are young thrusters, coffin dodgers & pretty much everything in between. Audi will be delighted :)

i am really supprised at the age showing up! Im 29 and brought a RS6 and all my mates called me an old man! Fair enough i would say the rs6 is for the older crew but i wanted a rs4 and when i found out the rs6 has 2 turbos i brought it as i knew it was the best one to squeze more power out of!
Anyway if you think the RS4 uses alot of fuel you should try the RS6! for one it has a couple of turbo's. I adverage on the computer 10.1 mpg. When cold i will give you £50 quid if you can stop the display saying less than 8 mpg and when hot on the m-way it will never get better than 22mpg at 60mph!
