Slightly confused about membership of the TTOC? This is compulsory, but not bestowed automatically. What if we fail approval tomorrow morning?

I was just re-reading the post on the TT forum and it is a bit confusing. It's due to the hacker attack we had a couple of days ago. It's mixed with old info and new so I'm just sorting it out now.

The day is for TT Owners Club members only. The decision was made to allow non TT owners to participate if they join the club (there is nothing to say you have to have a TT to be in the TTOC - ask Thorney!! [img]images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]). I believe Thorney had a discussion with the TTOC chairman and it was decided that it Thorney could promise good behaviour then there wasn't an issue opening the day up to RS246 posters.

My understanding is that the good behaviour comment is due to many of the TT guys being track day virgins (we all were once), and since it is a TTOC day, we didn't want any of them put off by experienced nutters in RS4's hacking around. (Please note this isn't slander - I was on the track with them at Donginton where they gang raped a Caterham!! [img]images/graemlins/shocked.gif[/img] [img]images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img])

It's an Audi UK provided day so we don't want loads of boy racers turning up in Saxos, Fiestas, etc or the Scooby/Evo guys etc. Nothing against them but this is an Audi club day not an open track day.

I am not on the commitee and hence have no say in who will be allowed to join and who won't. I don't expect there will be any problem with your membership, it's just I can't offer a cast iron guarantee.

I guess in answer to your question, the answer is that you don't get a drive but I really can't see this happening. If you behave then theirs no issues. If you misbehave you'll be asked to leave. The same rule applies for everyone so I hope to see you there.

Was good fun. Think I learnt more about my cars handling in one day than I have in last 5 months (it poored down with rain all day).

Track was empty all day and everyone was very nice to everyone else (lots of newbies).
