soft /hard wheels (sorry)

Post by brucelubbers » Wed Feb 06, 2008 5:30 pm

I have friend with an RS4 who's previous owner had harder wheels fitted. The thing is he has had 2 split side walls in the last 6 months one on the inside of the tyre?

He also now has 2 buckled wheels. Now someone told him that someone told them that some hard wheels have been replaced under warranty with soft wheels because of suspension / tyre damage.

Anyone know anything about this?

I suggested he try and buy some damaged soft ones and try again. once again, reckon that would be possable?

You get a 2yr warranty with the hard wheels, so unless he was one of the first to get them swapped out or has been rallying :-) he should be OK with a warranty claim.

I've just been told that, regardless if your hard wheels are under warranty, if they have been replaced under warranty already, i.e. from soft --> hard, Audi UK will not pay again
So, I have to contact stealer again - getting really pi$$ed off with this...

Will do, I'll be contacting stealer today, both local and one where wheels were replaced - I'll keep you updated

Audi stated to me that you only get the two year warranty if you purchase (pay) for the wheels.
And as they were changed under warranty before i bought the car to the hard type they would not pay again.

My dealer made a point of telling me that they came with a 2 year warranty as a way of enticing me to make the jump from soft to hard.

All Audi parts come with a 24month warranty. This is written on the back of their invoices and the parts depts usually have a sign up as well.

PS I was also told the same.
