only joking jeff, :D :nogarors4: mine only made 317 at the wheel and 400 at the fly, a fair chunk down on what it should be and i was pretty dissapointed on the day .and on a dyno demon rr. could do with finding out what the other cars made compared to past rr results.

The certainly feels much faster than 400BHP, everyone who has been in the car thinks it is very fast.

317BHP at the wheels is what I would expect from a remapped RS4, very similar to my S4 at around 420BHP. The green thing is much faster and the 400BHP whould be about right for wheel HP.

Find these figures strange, have seen standard B5 make over 390 and mine, with no others mods except exhaust and downpipes was making
402. Sussex rolling road have a good reputation but I would think something aint right here. Having been a passenger in JR's beast which was slightly more
powerful than yours, I would think your seat dyno would tell you if you were that far down on power.

I don't know how they could have screwed up when the dyno mode says shootout (impossible for the operator to interfere with the numbers) and the display is indeed "S_HP" which is DD's calculated flywheel figure. Unless the cooling was <beep> and the car was ran on a tried and tested DD in shootout mode, I have no real reason to emit doubts about the results, but of course I'd be glad to be proved wrong.

The thing that concerns me is that I don't have a sheet which shows wheel HP, temp, correction factors etc. All of the RS4 owners who have been in the car are very surprised how fast it is which really doesn't tally with only 15BHP over stock. Woody has driven it and thinks it's 'awesome' which again doesn't match 400BHP.

Looking at this the other way if it is only 400BHP, God knows what it will be like when it's running the 520BHP that I have RR results for. Fix the problem and an extra 120 BHP appear.....

Shootout won't show many environment variables (ambient temp and so on), however it all looks like the run was done in shootout mode. To be completely honest, 400 wHP on a DD isn't extremely easy to achieve, the highest I've seen from my own car was 417wHP with an RS4 engine, FMIC, full exhaust, tubular manifolds and running 2.0 Bar peak dropping to 1.65 bar at redline. Injectors were maxed out at 6000 RPM with 12.2:1 AFR and this was an experimental tune, to see how reliable the engine was when being pushed to the max. It has been reliable for 20k miles, that's all I can say about this experiment.

So my point is: unless you're running close to 1.6bar at 6000 RPM, I don't think you could have 400 wHP on a DD.

The car has the 520BHP MTM conversion which surely should make 400 Wheel BHP on a RR...

They ran it on the wrong setting , look at the chart and they did it in shoot out "6F" , that's for a 6 cyl forced induction . They should have used SHOOT 44 , that's for a 4 wheel drive car , the dyno has worked out the drive train losses for a 2 wheel drive car .

That's down to a crap dyno operator . Call them and get your money back ...

Shoot_6F. For forced induction 6 cylinder cars, but I think the losses not correct for 4wd.

Shoot_44 seems to be favourite for our cars and is what all the B5's ran at Thorney and what your (Mihnea) and Doug's plots have always been for the dyno dynamics you had your cars on (that I have seen posted).

EDIT: why didn't I read Grizz's reply before posting??!
