RM£3D - That's the most stupid statement this year so far - even for you! :bash:
The year is still young. There will be more I am sure.

RE the speed, everything is relevant.

I would given the chance too. But they don't go to a Porsche forum and say "my 997 Turbo is slow, in fact my old BMW M3 was quicker". But I suppose it's good for a laugh (for the rest of us at least).

I didn't say that the old M3 is faster then the RS4. All I am saying is that the new M3 and the current RS4 don't really feel very fast at all.

Are you for real, do you actually own an RS4 B7? They are both *very* fast cars and the figures prove that, so you saying this just means that they hide their speed very well which is in fact what they are designed to do. BUT they are not hyper cars or roller skates. How many other family cars could actually beat you round a track if you both tried and how much do they cost? At this kind of performance it's the driver that's the limiting factor and the difference between 8 and 10 minutes round the Nurburgring, not the car.

I know it's difficult, but perhaps you should start thinking "I am really lucky, I can drive one of the best family cars in the world!".

On the other hand, if you want to feel the speed and G forces go buy an Atom and STFU.

That's slow too. You'd be after the Desmosedici 161RR. 200HP. Act fast, only 1500 being produced. Tom Cruise gets his next week. Bring lots of money.

Nah, I am too much of a calamari to ride that. I'll probably end up with a 848.

The M3 has too many electric toys that are optional (trick suspension, different steering maps) and comes essentially naked of all options. It is also too boring at sensible speeds to be any fun, . The looks are completely fubared. They simply took all the E46 design cues and uglified them. Uglier powerdome, uglier jutting front lip that looks like a guppy, side vents that look like they have a 50's fridge handle on them, ugly rear diffuser, visible rusting exhaust "box". Even the alloys are so-so. Interior is just standard 3er and the new M seats are worse then regular sportpack seats.

This is the most sense that this guy has ever spoken!!!
