Forgot to mentioin, I also get the graunching on full lock too. And then there's also the side bolsters that don't seem to do anything when I press the sport mode buttom, squeezes my bum fine, just no loving at the sides :(

I think I need to make a warranty claim...

Does anyone know which measuring blocks show the pressure in the system in Vag-Com?

Having this looked at on mine next week when she's in for service & other warranty work. Get a bit of a grind at full lock (more so when turning right rather than left), plus i also hear a knocking every now & again, but more so when going slow over speed bumps.

Go see this post to vote on this: http://www.rs246.com/index.php?name=PNp ... ic&t=67744

Especially since the dealer is convinced that it is a problem afflicting the minority of owners... (Usually i'd agree with forums but given that many enthusiasts, not just complainers, are on here, be great to get the votes). Thanks to the poster of that other thread.

None, it's not monitored by any of the ECUs so VAG-COM can't display it.

Remember Audi make a point of saying that DRC is NOT electronic...

Exactly. That's why i would counsel anyone not to drive it about for long if it's feeling like it's faulty, and to your point, don't rely on NFF via VAGCOM to reassure you.

Well my car has now been with Audi for 2 and a half weeks. It was due back today but they found oil still leaking from one of the pipes on the road test so it is back in the garage with more parts on back order....car not due back for another week at the earliest and I am convinced they will never get it right!!!

Markweems - when you DO get it back, make sure you go try it over a sleeping policeman and look for a knock on REBOUND: the second 'repair' of mine was when i noticed this and it's about their either inability to, or failure to even know to, pressurise the GAS side correctly. Am in my third week now awaiting delivery of tool from Germany to do this job - not one in the UK apparently...

I had all the same problems. The dealer in Geneva changed every thing and have all the right machines to carry out the work. The knock is still there less when the car is warm and the answer is..............the S8, S6, RS4 and the old RS6 have this problem and not much can be done about it.
Now what do I do? May be go to the factory and ask for an explenation?

Hey Chris,
Did your side bolsters worked before with the S button? If not, have you checked if the setting is ON for S button (all done on the steering wheel). Hope that helps.

OK, update from dealer is that 2 shocks are leaking so will be replaced. Was flying to US so only got a VM so i don't know which 2 are leaking & being replaced.

Am i correct that they need replacing diaganolly (sp)? So if both fronts are leaking, then all 4 need raplacing etc. etc.?

Also is there anything else that needs doing with the replacement?? I heard about a gas re-charge or something like that.

Yes, they are diagonally linked, and must be replaced in pairs. Also they should replace the central valve.

They system needs pressurising after completion: they need to pressurise BOTH the oil and the gas side. AT present there is no gas side tool in the UK, as I'm waiting on the first one to arrive. And that's taken 2 weeks so far with no report of due date.

Cheers Oz, I have them switched off now, but before it seemed like the lower bolsters would inflate and grip my legs nicely, but little or no movement on the upper bolsters.
