RE: Replacement control arm kits

I missed woodys post, that does look like a very good price. I think Audi wanted 800 notes last time I spoke to them for the complete kit.

So are there aftermarket companies that do the track rod ends that are better built that OEM for sure.

Whats the proof that Meyle and Febi do heavy duty ones? Anyone have any experience with these guys and where to by from?

I have also been told that melye kits are very good, abd uprated. I have looked on a lot of the tuning shops in the US, they liks look metal on the melye kits.

Meyle is a German make AFAIK, but I'm undecided on their quality!

I would go for Lemforder if going for non Audi. They are the OEM for Audi items

I have a full Meyle front kit it is perfect, comes with everythig yu need including replacement new style steering tie rod ends.
I don't know who is slagging off this kit, but out of the packet it looks every bit as good as VAG. The roads here are terrible and it is holding up fine 1 year on.

Made in germany and exceeds Audi OEM specs, 1/3 the price.

Where are you getting the Meyle kits from? Also, is that an S4 kit or an A4/S4 kit?

Cheers,

Yes, but as already said, these are A4 kits. The upper control arms for the S4 are different. You can get a full A4 Meyle HD
kit (8 arms, c-links, tre's and bolts) for ~260GBP from ebay.de. However, they are A4 kits not S4 kits. AFAIK, Meyle don't
do an equivalent part to the S4 ones. The A4 ones will fit but they are not the same. I don't know what implications this has
for camber etc. The upper arms are ~50GBP each from vagparts (you'll need four). Meyle TRE's have a really bad rep
on Audiworld.

It's funny that Meyle list those as 'not for 2.7T' as do the ebay.de sellers yet the part numbers appear to be
compatible. Confused. The TRE's also look wrong to me. You'll probably be ok with those nevertheless.
The difference in the upper arms is in the bushings I believe. You could get the Meyle kit and replace the
bushings if you are picky.....

Still trying to find replacement control arm kit, emailed the seller and asked if they would fit s4 b5 with vin number and they had said it will.

Does anyone know if this will fit or any problems I might have with this kit.

I'm in a similar position with the car approaching 100k and a full set of RS4 shock's & springs waiting to be fitted. I was considering using the RS4 arms rather than the S4 arms, would this cause problems or would it make sense ???

I think the rs4 upper arms are exactly the same as s4 u/arms, lower rs4 arms with ball joints are different, you need the rs4 ally uprights (hub carriers) as the ball joint is different, rs4 specific...

I would like to know the difference between a4 to s4 arms thats talked about ... is it firmer bushes ..? castings are all the same .... anyone know ...?
