Hello there,
I have some Region One DVDs I want to play on my PC.
However, my WMP and Power DVD playing software seem to be locked to Region Two.
Does anyone know of any free region-free DVD playing software that isn't a 'trial run' bag-o-poo?
Cheers.

Well as it states in the linked posting ... it is old crap ... from yr2002 ....
Just go to a free XP/Vista download page and get the latest codecs ... but you may need updated software,
last time I had an region error issue I think they had only just started using the wheel .....
I just torrent software .... its free .. but may be illeagal ..... !!! oooh...

This is a hardware region coding issue in the DVD drive, all the codecs in the world wont help,

Have used DVDidle in the past with good results http://www.dvdidle.com/dvd-region-free.htm
The other way is to re flash the firmware of your DVD hardware with region modded firmware, but does depend on exact model of drive...allegedly.

As posted .. re-flash the bios ... upgrade firmware/software & codecs .... but ONLY if the reader on the dvd drive is up to it .... so get yr brain in gear when u think yr clever ...
or just get some software that runs all ... like Nero 6.6 onwards ..
happy dayz .... party ....
