Coliovers?
Coliovers?
Just wondering how much firmer a coilover suspension (H&R Hopefully) would change the comfort of my 2000 s4, 98,000 and counting. Hope to lower it by about 20mm and fit 18" wheels.
Cover around 350 miles a week and i don't want to turn it into a race car, i use it every day.

RE: Coliovers?
The H&R coilovers are quite a bit softer than I thought they'd be so probably what you are looking for? I stiffened mine up with ARBs and they're now perfect (for me!).

You can still adjust the ride height once they're on noccy (that is of course if you want to) - it's the dampers that are fixed (they are KW dampers 'tuned' to match the Eibach springs) - KW are very good. The front coilovers are double spring too.
TBH if you only want to lower it 20mm see if you can get some used RS4 shocks/springs - IIRC these are lower than the stock S4 set-up - or some used Quattro Gmbh RS4 shocks/springs ... probably a fair bit cheaper than a new set of coily's.
But if you want to buy new kit then I can definitely recommend the Eibach's for performance and comfort - combine them with H&R thick-set ARB's, MRC's "custom" rear ARB stiffener, and some RS2 rear drop-links and you're well sorted!

Deus ex machina
Eibach c/o's ~£650, H&R ARBs ~£300, MRC rear ARB mod ~£28, RS2 rear droplinks ~£110 (or can get copies for less - rolskii got some, don't know how much for though) - then there's the labour to get it all fitted and adjusted - maybe ~6/7hrs? Don't quote me on that though, give Doug a call at MRC, he'll give you an estimate.
