When was your fuel filter last changed.
I have just carried out a full service on my car and also changed the fuel filter as Audi dont give a recomended change interval.
When i removed the filter the date stamp on it was 03/01 so i would say it is the original one from new as my car was registered 06/01 and has done 97k miles.
The filter is full of crap which will not help fuel flow and also make the pump struggle to supply.
I would recomend changing it anually as they only cost aprrox £10 depending where you get it from.

RE: When was your fuel filter last changed.
My B4 S4 one was blocked at 80k miles. I reckon you are right, change at 60k miles, perhaps less on modified car.
RE: When was your fuel filter last changed.
if you dont know the milage when it was last changed then have it changed as part of a service or a health check..

RE: When was your fuel filter last changed.
I changed mine at around 70k soon after I bought it, and mine looked like it had never been chnaged due to the condition of the filter, and the fuel that came out of it!
Bit more time consuming than a usual fuel filter change, hence probably why its not done, even when scheduled!

RE: When was your fuel filter last changed.
It is a bit fiddly to change but worth the effort and peace of mind that it has been done.
They also suffer from corrosion due to its location and can spring a leak which is the last thing you want.
Mine had been filtering for 97000 miles which equates to approx 4400 gallons of fuel at say 22MPG that is a lot of filtering.
It's also approx £22,000 worth of fuel which is frightening when you think about it but an awfull lot of fun.

RE: When was your fuel filter last changed.
Mine corroded-through in 2006 and was replaced under warranty. When I voiced my surprise to the dealer that they are never scheduled for replacement they agreed, saying that they see a lot of leaks due to corrosion.
I've been thinking of changing this out as recently so handy that its come up.
Couple of related questions
Is there only a single filter in the whole fuel system?
What is the part number(s) of the filter(s)?
Are there any associated corroding washers\nuts\connectors that should be replaced at the same time?
Cheers

It is not integrated but in line just after the pump. Accessible from below the car.
I changed the one on my B5 and after leaving it to dry for a few days, I could not blow through it.....perhaps the missus could (?!?!?) but not me....well worth doing, for the cost and hassle, I would do every 30k or so.

No, It's a seperate unit located under the car just in front of the OSR wheel iirc, I need to get round to fitting mine at some point in the near futureBlue_Thunder wrote:Is the filter part integrated into the fuel pump?

turned out to be a badly corroded filter, apparently it should be done at service intervals but it looked like the original.
not bad for 107k miles...
the Ur probably has its original as well looking at it recently. That will be changed once its ready to roll again:)
