You assume incorrectly. "My Bad" isn't english but slang first used in that amazing piece of Hollywood drama that is the 1995 film Clueless.....shall I go on ?I assume english is not your first language. Does "my mistake" make it easier for you to understand?

OT, but I believe "my bad" comes from American popular vernacular. This means "my fault" and originates from the latin "Mea Culpa".
