Wow! Way to go MGSVRMAN! .....errr ... welcome to the forum

Can't comment on the track aspect - but as for "the real world" (as you put it) my S4 regularly and consistently annihilates Honda type R's and MG ZS's on the "real road" .... seems that 430bhp and 500ftlb does mean something there ...

Go buy a German car and learn how to introduce yourself on a forum properly without making yourself look like a complete tit.

My Grandad had a Rover, lovely old thing it was too.

All Red leather and real Walnut, headroom was so good you could drive it without taking your Bowler hat off too.

PMSL Julian!!!

Sorry mate. In my book 'track' and 'real world' are mutually exclusive. As in most peoples. If I wanted a track car I wouldn't
consider an S4. A clapped out Rover would definitely be top of my list though. Not. You're the one who is deluded, driving
around in grandad's shed and thinking 'Hey, I could beat that car in the 'Real World'(tm)'

Health check definetly needed there. I thrashed a Type R with a defective EGT. Wanna pit myself up against an E39 M5 next. Raced the new one, he was leaving me but not by much, I expected more!

I witnessed that particular Type R in action, that car was sick. I remember seeing that car down in Basildon. The geezer had lumped on a supercharger and was pushing out 300bhp plus. Its a black one if we are talking about the same car, I'm sure it is. He was reaping the souls of drivers down there on a regular basis.

It also had a tray under the dash which pulled out and if you took the lid off there was a tool kit underneath.

Funny thing is it never seemed to want to go much above 40 even though it was a 3.0 litre.

Very comfortable though.

Yes the car is supercharged to 300bhp with 100bhp direct port NOS and a Straight cut close ratio gearbox .

I KNOW that feeling. I'm just looking at DC2s now... I came from an Elise to the S4 as i needed something practical yet entertaining. A stunning all-rounder though the S4 is I need something a bit more raw!

I would personally have a look at the new Jap Civic/Integra FD2- http://www.neweraimports.com/carDetails.jsp?carId=350
Should be good, stiffer chassis than previous models, LSD, lighter and more powerful that our UK stuff, also has a little practicality with the 4 doors ;)
Downside, its a £20+k Honda...

Ah JohnnyX dare not take his car to pod or ontrack what a shame or is it hes scared.

Big JohnnyX reknowed over many forums for Dissing other cars but never is willing to take up a challenge.

To the rest of you guys on here please dont get me wrong the Audi s4 is a great car but its not that fast standard and once its 4-5 years old it sruggles big time.

I know this i had one.

I got rid of it because of this.

Someone mentioned that Hondas are crap build quality thats a total pile of crap.

Hondas run forever full stop.

Back to the clueless JohnnyX.

If you truly got to say santa Pod and some decent trackdays you will see many MGs or what you stupidly call Rovers lapping in times your and your friends S4s could not even dream of achieving.

There is 1200bhp MG do a google for John Webster

What is the fastest FWD car ever at TOTB - A MG/Rover 10.23@138mph

Anyways back to the point we run many trackdays and visits to Santa Pod and if any of you on here fancy a bit of a challenge please say so.

We have the biggest car community in the world even though MG or Rover dont produce cars anymore and we also host the biggest Single car race meeting anywhere in the world.

Oh i also forgot to mention we also have the biggest selling single car magazine in the world and after some of the pathetic comments on here about other marques i suggest some of you read it.

When Audi achieve this type of status i will shut up but it wont ever happen.

Honda's and Audis are well built, Rovers aren't, or should that be weren't? We had Rovers as company cars, they were sh*t. After the last engine blew up (pistons leaving holes in the engine block) and took 9 months to get new parts we replaced them with golfs and the like. Even with the body kits they are still grandad cars (or for chavs who can't afford anything else).
We have the biggest car community in the world
then please go back there; this is an Audi forum, specifically for S & RS models.

"I sold my S4 and bought a Rover"....
i suggest some of you read it.
Why would we want to? I for one don't have a flat cap or a barry boy hat.
