RS6 Turbos fitting on S4/RS4

Post by tdiquattro » Wed Dec 12, 2007 1:48 pm

A kit is now being tested in the US for bolt on RS6 K04s, I think this is the way they are heading over there, much talk about this being the new upgrade path as the RS4 K04s and hybrids have been done to death.

Don't get me wrong I am well aware of the debates on...

- KKK vs GTs
- Reliability of hybrids
- Availability of Maps for the RS6 and for hybrids
- The need for and cost of internal upgrades to make it worthwhile
- Head/cams/inlet/mani work to make it worthwhile.
- Like the stage3 kits the turbos or map are not available separately.

Any thoughts, comments?

In the US these threads usually turn into one of the discussions listed above and never answer the questions about the actual fitting of the turbos.

I would very much like an answer as to what is needed to fit a set of the RS6 OEM turbos if only to stop me looking at doing it! But I have pretty much given up asking here as for some reason the members that know how to will not say. From pics and other forums it looks possible and not that difficult. Dowmpipe mods are easy, use K03 wastegate actuators,
some talk of using 2 left hand turbos?, cutting the subframe, etc no straight answers.

See this link for the intro on the kit..

The wastegates need to be modded, dps need to be modded not really sure but i think they bolt up to the stock manifolds might need a little modding. Other than that there good. There is another company called EPL that has finished a car with RS6 turbos with a larger comp wheel heres the results.
