Most Power From A K04 Turbo
Most Power From A K04 Turbo
Can anyone give me max bhp figures on K04 turbos, standard or modified with all other engine mods (intercoolers etc).
I have heard that standard turbos are good up to 490bhp and some conversions up to 580bhp....
Anyone know different or can confirm?
Regards,
R.

Rich, you can probably get 1000bhp out of them (for just a few minutes), so the answer depends on how reliable you want your car to be (bearing in mind the cost of replacing those puppies!)

As much as possible, LOL. Car does about 6k a year. think the water injection helps lots...
Didn't aim for 500bhp was after 400bhp, but after fitting the brand new engine and a large box of custom bits, MRC set it up. The car ended up here 501bhp

And these are standard k04's?
What other mods to induction side, it looks like you have a very large FMIC - which water injection are you using?

I have the same but with 630cc injectors with upgraded fuel pump, Aquamist running 50 /50 meth - but was getting nothing like that (467bhp @ 6500rpm - could be the FMIC that makes the differance.BRETTCOLLINS wrote:this is the intake system that my car is running

I now have hybrids, tubular manifolds as well, lets hope I see the right side of 500bhp when its tuned or the dummy is being spat out...
Thanks fo the info guys.
