Costs appear to be the same for the RS Drivers' Challenge if you share a room or not... Doesn't make sense to me either.

We have been offered a visit to Audi/quattro GmbH at Neckarsulm . During our visit we will be able to discuss what we would like to see in the future RS models, and Audi will be talkings about some of the technical details regarding the current RS4/6 models.

We can get a rate of 99 euro per room (B&B, Double or Single) at the Walldorf Holiday Inn (Check out the pool). (Need to check if we are staying at the Walldorf or Walkershof for the event).

We will be able to pay cash on the day and the final list of attendees must be completed soon. Please nesure that you complete your entry forms clearly and fax asap to Oliver. So far we are only 4 .

Oliver said that he frequently visits this site, and would like to see a strong turn out from the UK .

What can I say.....? Result

Phil, this is absolutely great!!! I'm so disappointed that I have to serve in the swiss army then and cannot join the trip... the challenge was already though to swallow, but now the visit to the place of inspiration/innovation/madness in Neckarsulm.... I'm so jealous.

Anyway, you guys make sure those dudes know what we want in the next RS4: the power, the looks, and SOON!

Normally I would be very keen on something like this but I have two problems with it.

I am not sure I like the idea of a race. I don't fancy having someone run into the back of me or vice versa. I would prefer timed laps where cars are at 30 sec intervals.

How do guys in Standard cars stand a chance anyway?

I may come along to socialise and watch.

It's not really a race against other drivers, it's more a race against yourself lap after lap.

Basically there's a standard time for the lap (like 1min35sec last year).

Every lap you do that time, no penalty.

Every lap you go slower OR faster, penalty points (fake example : +/- 5 seconds around 1min35sec = 5 points penalty).
Penalty points get added at the end of the day -about 30 laps, was it ?-, the lowest score wins.

So daredevils trying to run laps 5-10 sec faster than benchmark lap are sure to lose.

I personnaly think it's a clever way to motivate competitors NOT to be crazy and push around other drivers.

Also it seems the benchmark time was achievable for standard cars, wasn't it ?

lets get one thing straight its not a race
and its very well organised, high levels of safety and good facilities for all entrants
i can thoroughly recommend this as an event not to be missed, espically as we are visiting the Quattro factory, and are meeting major players in the audi community.
But there are now limited places so you may not have a choice, just my honest view on things Jeremy, and certainly safer than a lot of british trackdays we attend

Yes, nearly everything is correct Eric!
It's not a race it's a competition and everyone can drive as fast as he/she wants.
The times are 1.25 min. for dry and 1.35 for wet condidtions. Both times are driveable with an standart RS4 if you are not a suberb driver, like me! If you you car is tuned you have a bigger periode of time and you can get the right time more easily!
So don't worry JJ! You'll have fun!

Wives, girlfriends etc. What's the story? Are they allowed? What's the cost for spectator only?
