Meredydd Hughes - an RS4 driver?

Post by Fake » Tue Dec 18, 2007 10:48 am

I see from the press that South Yorkshire police chief was nicked doing 90mph in North Wales.
Nothing unusual there then.
However, it is also reported that the car was a "Y" registered Audi, and Audi Financial Services was the registered owner.
What other "Y" reg car would be on finance at that age then?
This chicken thinks it an RS4. Any suggestions?

The reason why its still registered to Audi finance is all down to the price of Dougnuts and the poor pay they are on.

Many also be a cherished number on a new car on contract hire??

I too would not mind knowing what Audi it was, if only to confirm he is a petrol head like the rest of us, with the exception he thinks/thought he can/could get away with it.

he is a world class AR5EHOLE as well.. the fact that he bleats on about traffic crashes is related to speed (blx) its drivers LOOKING for cars/vans/gimps/grannies hiding behind hedges with a raygun, once theyre spotted its an instant 2 feet on the middle peadal as hard as possible and those not PAYING attention swerve to avoid sudden almost stationary vehicle in front!!

pity all he got was 700 quid fine and a slap on the wrist...oh and he relinquished his title as chief knob no doubt to reduce any flack.

SO IF 90 IS GOOD ENOUGH FOR HIM... ITS GOOD ENOUGH FOR EVERYONE ELSE THEN!! (tit)

S4TAN, i'm convinced you have a macro which you regularly run to search for threads with the word "gimp" in it. As soon as the magic word appears in any thread, your input is never far away.

I reckon he drives an A2. Probably in gold or brown.

It was a company Audi A8 and the only reason it was Y registered was because it was from Yorkshire where all the locally supplied cars begin with a Y!
The finance was probably because the police will lease it rather than pay for it up front, better for resale value if not registered to the police.

There's no excuse for someone in his position to speed like that unless he was confident he had the power to get someone to delete the offence, he should have stuck to Yorks or at least England

He doesn't sound all bad:
He claimed that technology should allow road signs to vary the speed limit “to not just 70, 60 or 50, but something more” if driving conditions were appropriate. Hughes pointed out that it made little sense for the same limit to apply at 2am on a Sunday on a deserted motorway as it did during a weekday rush hour
At least he accepts conditions vary, and blanket speed limits are not the answer.
Had to laugh about poor old Mr Hamilton getting caught in France. Personally we do the posted speed limits but in mph not kph, and often with a bit added for good measure too :D
