Classifieds

Post by jeffw » Tue Dec 11, 2007 4:03 pm

Now that I've started looking for a new car I notice how difficult it is to find car adverts amongst all the other ads. Any chance we can split the Cars and other ads into different sub-sections ?

I've also thought it hard at times to tell if the ad is 'for sale' or 'wanted'. Maybe something for the new version of the site?

Or a completely separate classifieds module...?

This would work better, nice idea Jeff  Need to keep it simple but practical at the same time, and this idea seems to fit IMHO

On another forum I'm on, it's split by For Sale, Wanted and For Trade. It seems to work without needing to split down any further. Another forum doesn't bother splitting it at all, but requires that the line is prefixed with "FS", "WTB", or "FT". Also seems to work. Both forums insist on the subject line letting you know when the item has been sold, though, which I note is currently not allowed here, due to not being able to edit after half an hour.

Could someone put a sticky on the classifieds saying
'please put for sale or wanted in the title'??
