When will Shell V-Power be sold in the UK

Post by wazza » Tue Jul 22, 2003 7:09 pm

Shell have an Optimax website including a forum where a 'Shell Expert' responds to questions.

As you know, Shell V-Power is now sold in Germany rated at 100 octane without octane boosting additives.

The question is 'When will it be sold in the UK?'

Here is Shell's response:
Shell has a Global programme (with successful launches in over 50 countries so far) of developing unique fuels tailored to meet local customer needs on a market by market basis. We are very careful to design each fuel specifically for the requirements of consumers, their cars and local legislation in each individual country.
In the UK Shell Optimax provides a real choice to those customers seeking a unique petrol that provides increased performance from their car and protection for their engine. Whilst we have no plans to introduce V Power to the UK market at present, we monitor customer needs and trends within the market place on an ongoing basis, and our portfolio of top quality fuels in under constant review.

In other words, if we make a song and dance about it, they may trial/introduce it over here.

What I suggest is if we all register on their forum and post comments then someone may listen.

sod it i can't be bothered to register for them just to say we won't sell it in uk because ... blah blah blah

simple way to get them to listen, is stop buying optimax and stop using shell fuel alltogether..

they only started to use optimax here as more and more people were using BP and esso superunleaded as it was cheaper than shells superunleaded at the time, and seemed to work bettert han there super unleaded aswell, from what i can remember...

Havind recently returned from Portugal and Spain and seeing they have it there ..in abundence too i might add, and the lack of decent cars , its seems strange we dont have it yet, i think its got somthing to do with the fact that the Shell company in Holland cant sell it at a low enough price to the Shell UK ltd co and its affiliates sothe profit must be low and they think ..why bother selling it here we can make more money with optimax or Unleaded.
Cheers
