FRONT MOUNTED INTERCOOLERS
Regal/VAG-Tuner.com got back to me with a quote for the AWE uprated side mounts...
"Finally have some news for you the cost of the parts is £872 + 17.5% there is a long waiting list for these parts so I will have to put them on order for you if you require the parts"
which doesn't seem unreasonable to me.
Would anyone else be interested in them? if so will start a new thread and approach them about the concept of a group buy.

"china cooler" effieciency?
Has anyone experience of MRC's (or similar) FMIC? I bought one, and I got suspicious that the pipes are too long, and there are too little of those?
Anyone got dyno proof?
Anyone got dyno proof?
Thanks for that pic.
Nice to see them side by side.
I did a rough comparison by quickly cutting and pasting the area of the 2 IC's together.
This shows in relation that the area space of the FMICis twice as big as the RS4 IC's.
How much of the FMIC really needs to be used is a question mark.
How much of the 100% bigger coolers are being used?
Is there a way to test this simply?
Also Im not too sure about the depth of both ICs's. Are they the same or are the RS4 IC's slightly deeper in depth.
I dont think that the piping will be an issue. The MRC ones dont have that much piping as you think. And they look as short as they could be.

Here's a question ... with MRC's FMIC, does the charged air get mixed as it goes through the IC, or does some go through the top and the other the bottom? If this is the case, and its not mixed, surly the top part does not get cooled as much due to the bumper being in the way????
Brett, you got any more pics of your modified bumper ??? where do you stick your plate??

surely if you cut away the section behind the number plate and grill it air will get to the top half..also if you get your numbers and letters of your plate cut out so the only part left is the reflective white plasti the air will flow through the plate..
the letters and numbers will still be visible even though they aint there cos its only the white that reflects anyway..aslong as the grill behind the plate is black the plate will look unchanged ..
try it on an old plate..looks trick..and will flow air very well..

Anyone seen these......

Looks exactly the same as MRC's and all for £275... not bad imo
I know it doesn't come with the connecting pipes but that can't be more than £100

thats where the metal bumper reinforcement is can't cut through it without making the bumper like jellys4woody wrote:surely if you cut away the section behind the number plate and grill it air will get to the top half..also if you get your numbers and letters of your plate cut out so the only part left is the reflective white plasti the air will flow through the plate..
