Strange gurgling sound coming from underneath

Hi All - can anyone give me some pointers on a wierd noise coming from under the front of the car, possibly from the the front part of the exhaust system near to what looks like a flexi coupling on the exhaust pipe. The sound is like a gurgling sound, i.e. similar to water going down a drain ......... Would the exhaust sound like this if it was damaged ?? - or is there something else under there ???

I've heard this before, it's just water dripping onto the exhaust, it only happens after driving in the rain. nothing to worry about.

if the car has been in the rain, the plemium chamber can carry a fair bit of water. the drains exhaust down in to the area you are talking about. these drains also can become obstructed with leaf debris - so pays to check them...

The noise has cleared up this morning, so it looks like what you guys suggested was bang on ........... many thanks, saved me another costly visit to the dealers .....

pay to check the drains if you haven't. i've seen an a4 which had so much leaf debris in the chamber that water took a long time to clear...
