Screen wash staining rear bumper plastic insert on S3

Hi

Has anyone else come across this?

I dont have the screen wash mixed more than 10%, but it seems to have marked the grey plastic insert on the rear bumper Auto Gym plastic restorer had little effect ..... any ideas?

Stupid question, but what screen wash are you using?

Most of the cheap ones around now, stain plastics, and especially plastic headlamp lenses.

As daft as it sounds - peanut butter!
Seriously it works real good at cleaning up textured plastics to give them a like new look. I just did the bikes bits in it and brought them up a treat. Simply smear it on, wait about 5/10 minutes and rub it off.
I have used Armourall, Autoglym bumper gel and even (the rather pricey) 303 Aerospace dressing, peanut butter gives a far better finish and seems to be lasting as least as good as the Autoglym. 303 is best used inside as it doesn't seem to like rain at all (goes all streaky pretty quickly)

Cheap Wilkos stuff, its 59p and makes 5 litres

Think i'll have to reverse onto the drive for the peanut butter trick

This is why I only stock Wurth screenwash. As stupid as it may sound, but with the newer plastics, and the amount used on newer cars, it's wise to use some proper stuff!

Otherwise make a trip to your local VW/Audi dealer
