RNSE Playlists

Post by itaggart » Fri Nov 02, 2007 12:29 pm

I have recently had RNSE fitted to my B7 RS4 by Craigyb (delighted with the results) and am now getting round to loading music onto 2 No 2Gb SD cards.

I would appreciate some advice on the best way to do this, I would like to do two things:

1. Load a number of CD albums onto the cards and be able to see all the albums on the RNSE screen therefore allowing selection.

2. Create playlists of my own, name them and be able to see and select them on the RNSE screen as per the CDs.

Sorry if this has been covered elswhere. :?

Cheers, Tried this and it seems to work however I am finding that the tracks visible on the RNSE screen are not listed in the order that I created when loading on my PC and this is despite also numbering them.
Any idea how to overcome this?

i usually create a folder for each cd, with all the mp3 tracks for a particular cd in that folder
i then create a playlist file in the same folder that lists only the cracks of that cd
when you use the top left rns-e button you get a list of the playlists as though they were individual cd disks, with a separator for card1, card2.

if you are looking at the playlists with the top left button, rather than the folders view, the tracks are listed by the content of the playlists.

when you create playlists, the software usually reads the file tags which must therefore need the correct track numbers in them to create a correct playlist

check the mp3 tags to see if the track numbers are correct and sequential then recreate the playlists

there are loads of apps to create palylists, but playlist creator 3 is freeware one which is really easy to set up to drag each folder from the card to it, then it will simply create a playlist in that same folder - works perfectly for the rns-e requirements

Here is a link to some software that manages your MP3 tracks on the RNS-E.

Have a look at http://www.navplus.us/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6740

Hope this helps?

Cheers,
Rob
