Nope I'll keep the annual fee and fitting charge thanks.....
If it has tracker then your more likely to catch up ith the ar*eholes that stole it.
Theres not much damage that can be caused to the car TBH not that matters in this particular situation.

Mike left hospital today, he is still very shaken and has had a minor op on his shoulder.

His family have said thank you for all your help.

Especially the chap from the VXR Forum, who's name escapes me, who spotted the car heading down the Welsh lane towards A43, Nothampton way and reported it.

Just goes to show that as a community, this and other forums do work for the good of us all.

Cheers.

Absolutely - the power of the internet. It's good to know that at least when something crap like this happens everyone clubs together and spreads the word.

Hopefully the reported sighting might help apprehend these scum!

Really sorry to hear this. Sad to say this really could happen to virtually any decent car nowadays, so being an RS4 owner i'd be no more worried that i would in any other nice motor.

It also adds to my current feeling that with cars like this, taking the ££ hit & part ex is the better way to move motors given the number of scum around.

Terrible!!!! The lengths these ****ers will go to are almost unbelievable!Hope there's a speedy recovery fo Mike!

Can I ask a silly question? What are these bas****s doing with the cars? I'm assuming they can't sell them (over here at least), who's going to buy "parts" for a nearly new car and it's a bit drastic to go to this for a joy ride???!!!!!

Likewise, I think this is a sensible question to raise. It's a terrible thing to happen, let alone be beaten up for the car but what's the point - it it a case of the scrotes selling the car on to a go between and it ends up in Nigeria. Are they stolen to order ??

I remember a couple of years ago watching a telly programme where a cop (from manchester I think it was) was flying over Lagos in a chopper with the tracker device and it was going nuts. Supposedly rangies and discos are very popular in saudi etc. Beckhams X5 showed up in slovenia (owned by a government minister I believe) after visits to spain and italy.

Used to work in nigeria and it was amazing how many cars were there with european tourist style stickers on the back, particularly 'NL' cloggy ones. Very easy to nick, put in a container in rotterdam in less than an hour and away you go.

Without going as far as that, I'm sure there are a million criminal uses for a fast capacious 4x4 car. Robbery, burglary, shifting drugs etc etc. Scoobys and evos used to be (prob still are) targeted for the very same reason. The RS is a wee bit bigger so more blag can be carried.

Total barstewards.

Hmm, would be tricky to maintain an RS4 in Nigeria. A stolen car in Britain would have to be shipped to Europe first, then to another country, not to mention the steering wheel is on the wrong side. Would stick out too much. Better to get one in Europe. So yeah, me to I wonder what would they do with a stolen UK RS4.
