ANY COMPETANT FITTERS IN THE LONDON AREA?

Post by dom888 » Wed Nov 07, 2007 10:28 pm

I know CraigyB is "the man" when it comes to installing Bluetooth to the NaviPlus units, but he's all the way in Manchester. Surely there's someone nearer London who can do this for me?

I've almost sourced all the bits I need and I'm going to have a go myself - As long as I functionally get it working I'll be happy and I'll tidy the fascia up with a carbon or similar surround to the excellent R33-VSpec installation as seen here:
http://www.rs246.com/index.php?name=PNp ... light=rnse
I retro fitted TV tuners and TMC in my R32 (MFD) version so I know what I'm up against. I more than likely going to opt for a digital TV source - even the Analogue on the move is poor reception - I only really want it so I can get teletext when I'm parked for sports results etc.. but we'll see.
Buying the RNS-E has been costly enough!

How easy is to fit an Audi Tuner ? Replacing the existing model B with the C version is a 10 min job .... but dont really think have the ability to put a new wiring loom although the way from the boot the to to the rns-e unit. Is there anyway possible to get a replacement plug for the RNS-E connector from model B to model C ?

Yes this is the loom you need - I have mine sitting here, just waiting for the bluetooth and RNS-E to arrive from Germany now:

Why do you need to run a cable through to the boot? - You can use the existing loom in the car, the RNS-E is compatible with the OEM CD changer, if you have the TV module then it won't, but you may as well upgrade to a digital tuner or AU/VID input device at the same time?

All the info you need can be found here : http://www.navplus.us/
But I'm going to do a complete write up when I tackle the install in my B5 RS4 and post it on this forum so watch this space.

The TV tuner is located in the boot. The existing loom can connect to the new C version TV tuner, but at the other end it wont connect to the RNS-E (different plug). What I am looking for is an adaptor to convert B tuner into C tuner for RNS-E.
