Fair point. No the tyres were different, however I find both GSD3's and PS2's very similar in terms of dry weather grip.

Both are excellent. I still maintain that the 265 width gives better stability.

You say that but there's more to it than just the 265, you went up from 18's to 19's also. 30 sidewall rather than 35

Therefore rolling circumference remains the same?

but the sidewall stiffness changes with the lower profile tyre. This will improve turn-in

That may be it then Mark.

I intended to use my 18" oem's for track days, however the 19's are so good I use them all the time.

Oem's are stored away for now!

Yes I tried some Dunlop SSR semi track tyres and found them to be worse than my GSD3's!?

Only used them once and now they are sat around....

Dave - how old were the SSR's or rather how long had they been laid-up prior to using them on track?

EVO's tyre test made a point of newer tyres giving better grip than ones that had been in storage for longer than a few months.

Good point. I read the very same article.

Don't really know, however I bought them from Camskill and they were cheap! After reading that said article I looked on the tyre, however no clues to when they were manufactured.

DOT marking - first two digits denote week of the year, last two digits are the year of manufacture.
Perhaps these tyres don't regular markings though . . ?
