You need the ECU upgraded. that will cure it.Hawkwind wrote:Have done c500 miles in the first week. Only one word to describe the car - Awesome! only problem is misfire/rough running from cold for first couple of minutes.
MY 1ST WEEK OF RS4 OWNERSHIP
Will have had mine 3 weeks tomorrow.....fantastic!!! On holiday in a couple of weeks and planning to go home and visit the folks in the far North of Scotland..........can't wait to get loose on those Highland roads.
rs4v8, might consider adding Edradour and Old Pulteney to that list. When you say North of Scotland are you North or South of Inverness?

Inverness itself mate. Need to try those two, never heard of them to be honest!
Yeah, highland roads, but keep it quiet eh?
Excellent at this time of year. Oh aye and keep an eye open for white or red peugeot / citroen partner vans at the side of the road. Gold 'dame edna' style headlight saabs are also to be treated with caution. Check here too http://www.nscp.co.uk/cameras.php - for information only of course! Depends how far north you are going but I deffo suggest the old road to bonar bridge over the struy hill (turn off at skiach services shell garage near alness). absolute magic and will not really add too much time to your journey as it rejoins the A9 back at the dornoch bridge. Enjoy!!

Yes, know that road very well. I'm originally from Tongue so Struie Hill is the usual route home and then I take a left in Bonar Bridge. Compared to years ago the Struie route got so much better after the Dornoch bridge opened and took all the traffic off it.
Inverness - Ullapool - Durness - Tongue (or the reverse) is well worth a look. The wife is from Lewis so it often gives an excuse to go that way.

aye I can remember (just!) when the struy road was a main road and it was full of trucks and buses etc total nightmare! the ullapool road is great too when it's quiet. five miles either side of the glascarnoch dam is brilliant in car or on bike.Iain_S4 wrote:Yes, know that road very well. I've just finished my third week of RS4 ownership too ..... and am in love with this car like no other. I traded up from a nearly near Lotus Exige S ..... which was a great car, don't get me wrong - but in a totally different world in terms of build quality.
The RS4 oozes quality, plus also goes like stink! Very happy indeed

Warranty not an issue, dont worry about it and would you like to arrange the remap sir??!!!RS4Molar wrote:What did the head tecos say about the "merits" of a remap /?? warranty issues ???
Interestingly i have had the ECU upgrade to 80 and since it has been cold these last few days, even kept in the garage the car still misfires for a few miles
RS4 Avant Avus Silver - With added APS
Just completed 8 weeks of RS ownership and the car is marvellous. Only downsides are being shunted the weekend before last so rear bumper repair and on Saturday someone who doesn't appreciate RS's decided to key the nearside from wing!
I need to put it on a dyno though, I'm not sure of it's power output and it sometimes doesn't feel any faster than my old S4.
