I also sold my car becuase of this issue, fed up to the back teeth to be honest with Audi. Plus the gearbox on the RS6 is rubbish, really should have been a manual.... crap car. (buts thats probably for another thread!)

Unfortunately i now have to add to this thread - my front off side and rear near side have started leaking ....... - kindly pointed out by a friendly Audi Techy ........also said it would be about £1600 !!! - nice - also found 2 screws in front 2 tyres, both brand new - only had the car 4 weeks - hope this is not the taste of things to come - anyone got any cheap PSS9's going begging

Hi Fen, Yep car was sold about 3-4 weeks ago now. Got fed up with the DRC issue, and I couldnt get on with it. Just a shame after the previous Audi's i'd owned (S4, RS4, S6 etc), the RS6 I felt was the worst of the lot!

New to the site and car, unfortunately already looking into what looks like DRC problems, the car feels very bouncy on the slightest of road depressions and nearly always making a curiously clutch LSD like noise from the rear, skittish on mid bend bumps, an ABS like vibration through the accelerator, corkscrewing on sweeping bends and generally not feeling very well tied to the road despite the obvious grip, at first I thought it was by virtue of its performance orientated stiff suspension and almost likened the ride to my old 944turboS but that did not bounce though, after reading this entire thread I think the DRC is playing up and unfortunately there is no warranty in place. My opinion is that if there is such an inherent design fault with this suspension the least Audi should do is pay us £1500 towards replacing our suspension with an aftermarket kit, I certainly have never had to replace the entire suspension on any three year old car especially on one with only 20K miles, maybe a class action is in order........
By the way I have found a Bilstein PSS9 kit in the US for approx £800 maybe even cheaper if one embarked on a group buy is this something anybody here is interested in, it would seem that with shipping costs and fitting it may cost less than £1250 to be rid of DRC forever

I also have a leaking front nearside and a noisy rear nearside (getting worse)on a MY03 RS6 40,000 miles

I can't be bothered arsing with the DRC so have just had the PSS9's delivered today as I have no warrenty either.

Am hoping Grizz will get back to me (I've sent PM) as my local Audi specialist garage is a bit unsure about fitting them in regards to ABS issues and various warning lights.

Eh??? lol. "A bit unsure" from that comment I would say it's an understatement. ABS indeed!!

If you lower it too much you may have issues with the Xenon self levelling sensors.

do you think so..im sure you can adjust the arm that connects to the sensor or reposition it..but im sure if there was a problem with this it would have been mentioned by now..

Having now got home and seen the fitting instructions for the shocks it does mention disconecting the ABS sensor and also the xenon sensor.....it mentions nothing later about reconnecting them!

Is this because they are part of the DRC which is being taken off!? It does also say DRC must be immobilized by experts!

This is obviously what they meant about being worried about warning lights coming on.

Anyone with the shocks fitted care to comment?

I have the KW v3 setup which comes with the bits to isolate the DRC. It's quite low, and have not had any issues with the lights or ABS.

MY '04 and DRC failed @ 45 k. miles. Replaced with PSS9 as car was out of warranty.

On a positive note, after previous failed part-system repairs/replacements... Since having full DRC replacement over a year ago its been great ever since.

Got the PSS9's fitted now and all the rattles and bangs have gone

Rear is sitting a little low for my tastes so will get it wound up at some point but all feels good so far

Hi Phil,

Please can you advise how the KW v3 rides vs the DRC setup. I do not want a hard ride - esentially same as DRC but without the problems! I know they are adjustable - what setting are you using.

Audi have just diagnosed 4 shock and 2 valves for my car which I think was about £2500, now waiting on Warranty Direct to inspect/confirm. I'm still unsure about whether to keep the DRC and if necessary use the AUDI 2 yr warranty or go for the KW's.

Are KW's potentailly softer than PSS9s being 2 way adjustable? Is there any element of anti roll capability lost through loosing the effect of linking front to rear??

Any further news from Audi customer services? Is the new rubber gaiter on the shocks a potential solution to the problem?
