..... you need to go back and kick the tyre fitters arse, the valve on the wheel is also the sender unit for the low pressure warning system and the unit is a tad more than a standard valve to buy.

i 2 have damaged a front. went to my audi dealer for advice on repair. they where honest saying that they where unable to match the n factory finish. while waiting i hada close look at the second hand cars for sale. i am sure that they had been repaired. the depth in colour /gloss finish had been lost and on some there was not consistency in shape. if ur buying second hand- check. there is also a big difference in the tyre walls between pirelli, continental and michelen, with pirelli giving the most tyre wall shoulder protection. i hav decided to buy new and use the advice posted to repair the damaged wheel

It must be the season for kerbing!!

I've just taken my girlfriend to the hospital and driven through an impossibly narrow gap entering a multi storey and done my off side alloy, it's only a scrape but a scrapes as bad as a gouge isn't it?! I love the car so much that I'm secretly blaming my bird for being ill!

You can be as careful as you want but you can't legislate for stupidly narrow gaps.

GUTTED!

I still have the damaged wheel, can I remove & refit the existing sender/valve to the new wheel?

As far as i rmember the silver valve is also the sensor for the pressure system, so it needs to go back.

My RS4 arrived at the dealer with the front offside valve unit damaged and a rubber placed. Still waiting on the OEM valve unit to arrive ? Meanwhile had to switch off TPMS as it would pop up all too often.
Let you know how it goes.

TPMS isn't standard though is it? How do you tell if your RS has TPMS?

The DIS menu? I've got the normal mpg and mileage sections and lap time but nothing else IIRC.

It is std and you can set it in the DIS - RTFM as we say!
