I been watching this with interest, and after a couple of phone calls to the relavant people involved have decided to interveen (was hoping that it would sort its self out)
Bad Feelings towards a moderator, who in my opinion is one of the nicest guys you are ever likely to meet, would do anything for ya, and has done a lot for RS246 over the years, countless trips abroad with the core of the RS246 guys and attends most of the meetings in the south.
Simple1 in his own eyes sees that this site has changed and there are indeed more "new guys" with a lot more to say than most,OK his methods are sometimes uncooth, straight to the point and without spin or flimflam, its what we all liked about him, just go back to some of his posts in the early days, quite similar to someone who feels that he doent want to be part of this forum anymore. Its a plain as the nose on yer face guys, you are quite similar, BUT have rubbed each other the wrong way BIG TIME!
Simple was IMO wrong to voice his displeasure in the way he did, but thats Simple!
I would dearly love to see everyone calm down and get back to how it was, it your site use it.

The next version of the site has the ability to have site rules.

However, as far as the original point goes.... We hope that this doesn't really need a rule as such. As people find services that are a benefit to the users, they also consider proposing to the vendor that there are advertising opportunities that benefit the long term livelyhood of the site.

Many people have a sense of loyalty to the site, both old and new, it was very stressfull to feel that the loyalty was poorly placed. I feel better that at least two of the 'crew' have responded now..

With so many opinions on such an emotive subject there are always will be a difference of opinion. It shouldn’t really get out of hand though. In the early days of this site I can remember thinking that a certain moderator was a little to blunt for my liking, but after meeting the guy and talking to him on the phone (I still regret not buying your black rs4 and going for the rs6!) he seems like a decent bloke. My point is forums as we know aren’t always great at getting the message across particularly in a heated debate. There are many ways someone can interpret a post as we all read text differently. But I can see on this occasion it got a little out of control. As Phil T says S4TAN isn’t banned, it’s up to him if he wishes to come back and I hope he does as this sites aim I would have thought is to foster anyone’s interest in all things Audi and the motoring world.
This site is only as good as its members; it would be a shame to see S4TAN no longer contributing to RS246.com imo.
JR I’m impressed with your response…at least this time no one is a to£$er
