I'm pretty sure your parts dept. won't have a clue!

Did the ebay seller explain why it won't fit?

How did the install go then? Did it come with the horn contact or did you have to swap it over? If so, how did you get on taking those fixings off and putting them on the new wheel? They scared me off when I took my wheel apart, but then again, I am the master of diy collateral damage.
on taking the airbag off and looking at the horn contact i was scared off to mate :? !so took it to a friend at my local audi specialist who did it for me ! everything was sweet untill when driving it i noticed it wasnt quite bang centerd ! and as he did it me for free.. i didnt want to offend him by telling him he did it wrong ! so as it was only the horn plate that had me a bit nervous i decided to put it write myself ! only problem i had was undoing the center torx nut with a small wrench with no joy was tight as hell ! so gave it a go with a bigger wrench and that sorted it ! im seeing him again on monday and will ask him how he did it and the tools he used and will let you know !

im chuffed to bits with it ! its definatly worth doing.. makes the car feel even more special :D

sorry it took so long jarv ...spoke to my mate who took the horn plate off for me ..asked him how he did it .. he said its quite fiddly .he took the clips of slowly and gently using a small screwdriver and some long nose pliers being carfull not to brake them as neither him or i had any replacements .once off he then gently squeezed them back in to shape put them on a flatbed and using a hammer flatend them out again onec flat he then turned them round the other way to fix the plate back on new wheel housing "again" using some long nose pliers. sound quite fiddly to me.. :? if i was going to try it my self ide probebly get some more clips as back up ! hope this helps !

That's the way I fitted mine too. If you are practically minded then you'll be able to do it ok. If ham fisted, get someone else to do it

Cheers Eddy. It's crazy that the wheel doesn't appear to come with the horn contact, but Audi don't list either the contact or the fixing washers as spare parts.

i done mine tonite in about half an hour, very easy job to do , just start the star washers of with a screw driver then use a little braddle or similar to remove. these washers are quite universal any little motor factor or spares shop should have them. (not halfrauds, if it aint got bass them spot12 sided starty teenagers will just look at you with a blank expression)tools reqired a 10mm spanner to disconnect the battery, a 30 torx ,a small screw driver and braddle and a 12 sided star drive of about 10mm,(sorry cant be more precise because my set dosn't have sizes on them)
