19" wheels

Post by gord » Mon Apr 16, 2007 3:58 pm

I thought the standard wheels look a bit weedy so put on a set of 19" RS6 wheels. They transform the appearance of the car and the slight deterioration in ride is to be expected i suppose, however while I have been assured the offset etc is ok, they do catch very very slightly on the rear arches in extreme situations.
Has anyone any experience of this and/or what can be done about it? I guess tyres with less pronounced 'shoulders' may be one (expensive!) option eg Contis rather than the current square-set Dunlops).

Actually, you can probably see it here (with both sets of wheels):

As you can see, I've actually now sold it, but kept the wheels for my new one.
