The contact prints were very small. It was quite easy to spot my car (only 2 red RS4's there that day) but it may have been difficult spotting other cars (ooops, I've kicked that one off again!!). IIRC, two years ago when I was last at Combe, the photographer organised all his photos by the car number, so it was really easy to find your pictures, however, I guess there were too many cars there for him to do this last weekend.

But I agree Jarv - having them on the web may ahve given him the opportunity to sell more, and gives him time to do them ratehr than in a rush at the event.
Perhaps he only takes cash and not cards?

I hoped to see them on the web later like last year but it looks like he isn't doing that anymore. Shame as he took loads of my car when doing the childrens laps.

I bought a couple of images online last year. Who wants to queue up in the cafe waiting to look through tiny contact sheets looking for photos of your car when there is so much delicious metal to see in the flesh outside? Not me.

@ Paul. Now I get the red car thing.

I have one, it was in the boot. I put the towing eye in on tyrack-days in case I need a tow. The brake-down dudes at these events tend to attach their hook to the first thing they see, and if the eye's not in that'll probably be something expensive to fix.
Blimey that's the pessimist in you. Either that or you are a good boy scout. BP and all that!

Not really....what if the car in front has a big spin (like the white UR in front of ... Jarv!!) and that you decided the best avoiding action was "off"? You could end up needing a tow off. That being far more preferable to not taking the avoiding action. Remember what they said in the briefing, "the only thing you'll ever run out of, is talent". There was some poor driving there, but far better driving than at so many other trackdays.

Jarv - Jim Gaisford is a bit of a luddite and doesn't do t'internet!
It is a shame he doesn't have better contact sheets etc but it's a family run thing and he barely makes any money at it so he does the best he can given the circumstances.

Derdle - very sensible having your towing-eye fitted, you can never account for other driver's actions.

That white Ur Quattro spun in front of an EVO at Camp Corner on Rally Day, got clipped and lost the edge of his offside rear wing!

Hi paz.

That wasn't the UR that spun in front of me. Though IIRC I did see that one at ADI as I remember the reg. Must have repaired it pretty quickly after Rally Day.

Steph,

That's what we were discussing earlier in this thread. He doesn't have a website. However, I have since been contacted by Gaisford (the 'official' photographer) and told that they are obtaining everyone's addresses from Autometrix and sending out contact sheets. Probably not strictly kosher under the DPA, but I'll believe it when I see it!
