The day we can't recommend a company and help out our fellow forum members by including the contact website is a sad one. Sorry. One member harping on all the time about a company, maybe see the point, someone who perhaps has connection with the company, I see your point. One friendly post like this, over reaction. To think every external link has to have that company as a site sponsor is ridiculous.

I am part of the team on a large very active forum and the I do know moderator decisions are normally final, their is little point arguing and these things are rarely decided in public, normally behind closed doors of the staff/crew sections. However, moderators can be wrong and there is nothing worse than an un-thought out ruling implemented with a heavy hand.

Maybe it would've been ok if they were called DMS ... ... Mind you, I don't see their sponsorship banner here ....

This attitude smacks of double standards (again)

Very nice - how did you get that finish on the wheels? Looks like polished anthracite?

Thanks for your comments everyone, I appreciate it.

The wheels won't be to everyone's liking but I fancied a change, so I went for this colour. Mixja, for fear of getting pulled up by the mods again, I won't mention which company did my wheels but it is a shade darker than the titanium colour with polished finish. I felt this contrasted slightly better against the daytona grey paint. Another option would have been completely black (polished or otherwise), but I wasn't quite ready for that yet. I'm away in Hong Kong at the moment for 10 days, so haven't got the exact details of the paint at hand, but if you wish to know who did it/paint code etc, just pm me.

Not wishing to ruffle too many feathers here but I also think this has been dealt with by a heavy hand.
GrahamS4's points are succinct.

Alex, once again I must say thanks for "sharing" this information.

Satan, butt out and mind your own friggin business, you have been warned off the record, now its public, and if someone wants to teach me how to run the site, do it by going and setting up your own rather than abstract comments when they get their wrists slapped. Moral of the story is simple, by all means bleet and blow about what and where you had things done, but ask first before posting links to other business which dont support or fund the site. We must have 20 car washers on the site, and all the crew are getting just a bit fed up with moderating what is generally viewed as advertising free of charge.

Take away all the people and company referrals and there would be nothing to talk about.

This is now getting silly. What is this forum all about if it's not for sharing information. I think it's very obvious to most on here if someone is trying to promote a company by harping on about the same company time after time with web links, phone numbers etc repeated everywhere but in most cases it's just helpfull information of where to go for either products or services which someone has tried and is pleased with the end result and wants to pass that information onto others.

I think to be honest you want your cake and to eat it too.

Well thats enough of this forum for me I'm afraid, there are plenty of other forums catering for my needs without this kind of greedy attitude. A great shame as I was begining to get to know the characters on here and will miss their banter but no doubt I will meet up with them again on another, less dictorial forum.

The ironic thing is I don't think I have ever once used the advertising banners at the top of the pages so your customers have wasted their money on me and now that I won't be visiting here again then they have lost any potential/future sales from me as well. :?

Satan, butt out and mind your own friggin business, you have been warned off the record, now its public,
 hahaha - hey simple1 .... you DO make me laugh! So you've "warned" me have you? Oooooh - I'm shaking in my boots! The day someone like YOU warns someone like ME is the day that HELL FREEZES OVER. I responded to what I saw as a smug, sneering, imperious and inappropriate post by you in response to a guy merely posting pictures of his car and some info on who detailed it. When one of your "buddies" shamelessly plugged (to death) the DMS re-map I never saw you interject and admonish him for promoting a company that does NOT sponsor your site. Why was that I wonder .....? I HATE double-standards, and will always speak out when they are employed.

You tell me to “mind my own business” - are you beyond criticism then Simple1? Is that how this site is run? Forum members must all blindly and slavishly agree with everything you say, fawn, grovel and genuflect in your mighty presence...? HA! As stated above: you DO make me laugh!

Sooooo very sorry that I'm not the sycophantic type that inadequate people like you so clearly need to surround themselves with so you can prop up you delicate, over-inflated and self-aggrandizing ego.

Pull your head out of your arse for f*cks sake ..and just exactly who the f*ck do you think you are to warn me!? What the f*ck are you going to do? If you think your bully-boy tactics work on me then you seriously need to think again.

Oh and don't bother banning me - I, like Graham in his post above, won't be visiting this site again - it has become elitist, autocratic and pompous (very much like yourself ironically!) – You are alienating a lot of people with your attitude if you did but realise it.

No doubt you will delete this post quickly – but at least you will have read it before doing so… if you ever want to meet to discuss this further with me then you have my contact details.

This is nuts, I for one really dont get this! Is this site not supposed to be for sharing information and helping others? I have been a member of other car forums and none of this 'editing' has happened!

I have posted a phone number for a chap i know who sorts out all my ICE but I was only trying to help another forum member out. Also I referred someone to a company where they could get really good detailing products, but not once has this been done with malice or as 'free advertising' Again is this not supposed to be somewhere we can all share info, have a chat and help each other out when possible?

I understand it takes money to run a web site, hence the adds but this is getting a bit extreme with members leaving etc.

What exactly are the rules? Are no companies allowed to be recommended? If this is the case or the tuning threads should be removed, also any recommending any one to cary out work on their cars!

Julian is right.

In 3 days W8PMC and Simple1 wrote the 3 letters, DMS, 79 times and if thats not advertising then nothing is.

It was only stopped when I commented on W8 being a cock, for which I apoligised.
