be interesting to compare the S3 and R32 - I will do that once the deal is done. Chris you are welcome to a ride!

Alledgedly the R32 handles better than the standard S3 out of the box. Insurance is no different and I still have track cover.

Really the Golf has no more space than the S3 but 5 doors will help as I do have a daughter and the S3 was pretty impractical for baby seats.

I am looking forward to the 3.2 V6 noise though, and AMD reckon they can get them to 270 bhp...

Subaru STis in UK are only available in 4 doors and E36 M3 was also available with 4 doors.

I have just put down a deposit on a Golf R32 5 door in black - UK CAR due mid September

will i be banned from this site

Oh dear... I think you will be sorely disappointed. I went out in an R32 and it was, well errrmm, wank!! Soz mate, but really didn't rock my boat. Could do with some additional turbo power me thinks...

Will you be banned? Unlikely, but we may just ignore you

I have driven Dunc's S3, and had a ride in an R32. Personally I prefer the S3.

IMHO

S3 Pros:
Audi
** Turbo **

R32 Cons:
No-turbo
Theft
It's a Golf

Phil you may think that the R32 was 'wank', but lets face it its going to feel gutless when you are used to a chipped RS4 as your everyday car

Its fact that the R32 is more powerful and faster than the S3 (talking standard cars here and magazine type timing tests). TBH I expect the cars to be pretty comparable, just wanted 5 doors and another car with good residuals to tide me over for the next year

Anyway, full report and (hopefully) unbiased comparision, when I get the car

Well...I asked the VW dealer for a trade in price on my S3, just incase I didnt sell it in time, and bearing in mind I have had three trade offers already...

basically they offered me 3 grand less than two of the other trade quotes I had been given. I was livid, thought about it for a few hours, then called the dealer up and told them I didnt want to do business with them.

I bought a new car from this dealer 2.5 years ago, and with the R32 that makes two brand new cars in 3 years from them, plus the R32 was retail, and they were trying to take the piss out of me with their offer for my car.

Out of principal I thought why the feck should I give them my money when they are taking the piss.

So currently S3 is still for sale, no R32 on the immediate horizon...I dont know what to do at the moment...keep the S3 (minus Porsche brakes and remap ) or find another R32 or something...

feckers

Cheers
