GrahamS4 wrote:As said, shocking story. SO so much put in to this car and to end up in this state, unbelievable.

A great list of parts you have there and I can't deny I will be one of the vulchers circling when you put prices to those parts.

On the look out for some RS4 intercoolers and a bi-pipe at the right price. Wouldn't have the heart to bargain with you though, so probably not the right deal (for me) this time around!

Lets hope things take a distinct turn for the better somehow.
Ditto :(

I would stick with it also, it would be a shame to see it split for parts.

Giving in (hmmm sounds too harsh after throwing nearly the cost of a grey import Evo at it) at such a late stage will result in a very happy customer who gets it from you.

I'm shocked at the money though ....Crickey I understand your Avatar now!....

I'm peed off about mine... 65k miles cost 7k spent 500 quid in bits and some labour 10 months (but I've only done 2500 miles so it still looks expensive)... Oh by the way I'm a Yorkshireman... Scottish with the generosity removed (so 500 quid is dear in these parts)!

Blue, sorry to hear the news. Are you going to be posting the parts on the classifieds or shooting out pm's to those who inquired before this thread was started to see if they are still interested? The reason I'm asking is because I'm still keen to pick up the bits I asked you about a few weeks ago. Don't feel too bad about the costs, they are expensive cars to maintain, I ended up $5,000USD just in parts during my last major issue, though that did include a few mods as well.

Going to take a look at it next week when I can get it over to the garage. Preparing myself for the worst. There may be piston damage due to the dodgy ignition timing identified when I did a log run last weekend.

If I decide to strip it, I'll post up on the classifieds with prices, but suppose it would be fair to give people from this thread first refusal.
As GrahamS4 has predicted, I won't be offering any bargain prices as I'll need to recoup as much as I can so I can get myself an A reg Yugo painted by a gypsy with Hammerite.

I'm sorry, but that really did make me laugh out loud. You're spot on though, chin up.
