Cosworth tuned?
Does the rs6 follow the same pedigree as the rs4 being cosworth tuned or is this an internally developed engine by Audi?

Re: Cosworth tuned?
I believe that the engines are built by Cosworth in the UK and shipped to Germany for installation into the cars.

Re: Cosworth tuned?
This is true, intially Audi ordered 2000 engines from Cosworth, and i think they must be near using all of them

I would be surprised if they hadn't already exceeded 2000. There must already be several hundred cars in the UK, and more than that in the rest of Europe. There are also quite a few in Scandanavia, and shipments to the USA have begun in earnest. Although low in volume, shipments to the southern hemisphere will be taking place over the next four months.

Quattro GmbH is the company which actually builds the car`s and not Audi... Audi just own Quattro GmbH

Re: Cosworth tuned?
I suppose the saying 'Built in Germany, refined in the UK' is very true in the case of these cars. Nice to see some of our lads getting work out of it though, especially as this model is planned for a much bigger production run than the 4 was.

Re: Cosworth tuned?
AFAIK, it's slightly more complex than that - the 'innards' are manufactured in Germany in Audi's factory and are shipped over to Cosworth, who cast the block and assemble the motor and turbos sans intercoolers and inlet / exhasuts. The engines are run in on the bench and crated up and shipped back to Germany, where an S6 body is pulled from the line and has the engine and transmission dropped in.I believe that the engines are built by Cosworth in the UK and shipped to Germany for installation into the cars.
The RS 6 (as it has suddenly become) is then driven at walking pace over to the quattro Gmbh building and all the remaining RS 6 goodness is added by those clever chappies at quattro.
Then they go hare-arsing around the public roads near the factory in the name of "testing" it...
