I think that's a question you could reasonably ask of MRC ?

Yeah, I wouldn't mind knowing this too. With my luck, I'll be getting some K04 turbos fitted within a week of getting my car (which I'm still searching for) and have started earmarking the money for them already. Would be nice to know what kind of outlay we're talking about without wasting MRC's time.

Would think you may want to add some other things to the MRC 400 kit too IMO. Things like brakes would be high on my shopping list before contemplating an extra 135 ponies under the bonnet.
I personally find that with 315 my brakes are beyond their limits with my particular style of driving already, thats with grooved disks on there too. A couple of high speed stops and they are cooked completely.
Don't know if you need anything else like RS4 clutch etc to handle the extra too?
. S4 Nogaro Blue Avant . ECS IV . RS4 handling bits . 18" Ultraleggera . AWE Boost Gauge . MRC Custom Map . 315 BHP . 482 Nm .

Id say The Rs4 Clutch is advisable if going more than 400 brake. I would have thought it would be necessary due to the extra torque youd be pushing out which is a huge difference from a stage 2 car.

Looking at the list on the MRC website, I see that RS4 Intercoolers are not on the list nor is any other type of IC or even the famous MRC FMIC.

Does that mean an Intercooler upgrade is not needed to get 400 horses?

I know this is not a list of what is included for the MRC 400 specifically and it includes other Mods that Doug has extra, but wonderign if it contains all the bits neeed to get 400 horses or so.

K04 Clearenced/Ported Hotsides
Green Panel Filter
440cc Injectors
Single 3" RS4 Exhaust
Ported Stock Manifolds
De-Catted
RS6+ Brake Setup
H&R Coilover Suspension
Modified H&R ARBS
19" RS4 B7 Wheels
RS4 Grille
Fog Lights Removed
HID Conversion
Custom remap by MRC

Ive also noticed that the turbo intake pipes are not on the list either but are included on the MRC 500 list. Does that mean its possible to get 400 brake with stock turbo intake pipes?

Also Ive noticed no uprated fuel pump on dougs list. Does that mean stock fuel pump is good for 400 horses?

It may be that Dougs just listed his mods and not been specific as different customers would want things tailored to his needs thus using his car as an example of what can be done. Doug if you read this, would you care to list the basic setup of what would get you to a 400 ish setup, and any additional recomended additions to it.

saf... Stock fuel pump will run lean at top end revs, so you dont want to cut cost there.... 400bhp on stock k04 pipes yes....

Thanks Clive. Much appreciated. I must be blind to not have seen that.

rolskii, WOuldnt dream of cutting costs on a fuel pump. But now I know its needed for 400 brake.

I wanted to go somewhere in between of 400 and 500. Adding an RS4 clutch and flywheel, and also RS4 Intercoolers. Am also considering dropping the compression. Might even get to slightly over 450 if Im lucky.

K04 pipes vs Custom intake pipes? Need to find out which ones Im better off going for to get around 470 ish.

I think all the parts add up to around £4000 with brakes, fuel pump and k04 intakes BUT not including intercoolers labour or remap.

I think ill be giving Doug a call to find out more.

Pretty certain you can make 400 on the stock fuel pump. Doug said an uprated pump would allow you to get closer to 420.

Stock pump and i/c's can give you around the 400 mark - I ran a stock pump for a while after my MRC400 conversion - but was advised that at top end you run the risk of running lean (as rolskii says) - so I had a Walbro pump installed and RS4 i/c's.

Your looking at something in the order of £3.5-£4.5K depending on what extras you add. K04s, Clutch, Engine Mounts, Fuel Pump, Injectors, Remap and exhaust (decat or Milltek) will make 420-430BHP and cost around £4.5K depending on where you source the parts....Full Milltek will push the price up quite a bit.
