Post by dace » Sun Sep 23, 2007 9:01 pm

Anyone tried these pads on the RS6 8 pot set up?

Used them on loads of cars with different calipers. Probable the best road pad out there that you can still track and doesn't cost a fortune (unlike Pagid pads !). Never used them on the RS6 caliper but would highly recommend them.

Just get them Dave. I've used the 2500's in the past, they are very good and will out last standard pads in fast road/track use, making them no more expensive overall, and they will stop you :)

Have you priced Pagid RS29's as well ? they are excellent but noisy (squeeky) at low speeds, which I dont remember the Ferodo's being :)

Cheers Dave. The RS29's are bloody expensive for this set up, however they do come highly recommended.

24 hours endurance race around the "ring" in a race prepared BMW, on one set of pads, is a pretty stiff test!

Yes, they are very good, I've tried a few by now  not really a daily driver pad though and you would need to be really careful bedding them in each time you swapped for a trackday or whatever.

Another vote for DS2500's here - ran them on my old car and thought they were great.

Does anyone know if they are softer than the Padgit blacks that come with the RS6 callipers ??

Reason I ask is, I have YET AGAIN got some cracks in the discs ... :( if I can get a softer pad that works as well as these blacks, then maybe the discs will last a little longer (a lot cheaper to replace pads than discs ...)

Checked my pads on Saturday and I still have around 40% left on them.

So not ready to change for a while....

Just to add that I've gone for RS29's on my car and they're simply awesome! They don't seem to wear particularly quickly either... I would be keen to hear if anyone has tried both DS2500 and the Pagid RS29's as I would be surprised if the Pagid's did not last quite a bit longer than the DS2500's. Disc wear doesn't seem to be especially high either....

However, they do have a tendancy to squeel a bit if you've not caned them for a while, when braking lightly. A quick blast soon get's them back working quietly tho... Price is also a -ve but offset by duration....
