and i do have a large screen TV, do you have a spellchecker?
So instead of your children being sat back in thier seat all belted up you have them sat forwards with thier heads poking between the front seats to get a view of the TV. Very responsible parenting!!

I rest my case....

Get stuffed on the spelling

Sorry but attention to detail is one of the things I find important in life, such as bad spelling, it shows a careless attitude in my opinion, I certainly wouldn't employ anyone who couldn't be bothered to spell correctly on an application form or CV.

As for the leaning between the seat thing. Once they are on their booster seats there's a perfectly good view from the rear without resorting to leaning into the middle. As a responsible parent I also wouldn't condone wearing a seat belt incorrectly. Did you try sitting in the back before you posted to see if you have to lean? again, it's called attention to detail.

Dave, if all you can pick up on in my arguement (watching TV whilst driving)is my spelling on a web forum then you are a very sad man indeed... It's not like I am applying for a job with you!!

Besides, I dont need to be able to spell a 'million', just have the ability to count it!!

What catagory do you fall into then? The half that doesn't know what they are doing?
Personally I'd rather be one who knows what they're doing, but watching TV.... :P
Well more fool you. Id like to see what you have to say about yourself after you have knocked some poor kid over while watching an episode of Eastenders.

And If the coppers ever catch you you'll get fooked up teh ass big style!! (although that is probably what you need)

Very irresponsible attitude to take imho and you shouldnt be allow a license if thats how you think..

If your really that depsperate to watch tv while driving why not get yourself a nice big plasma screen in teh bedroom and buy one of those racing car beds.... I'll perhaps feel that liltte bit safer on the roads then as that sounds about all you are fit for.

P.s that also goes to everyone else in this thread who thinks it is acceptable to drive and watch TV at the same time.. What a bunch of numbskulls..
Why take an attitude?? If you actually thought, its is for the passengers or traffic jams!! You are the "numbskull" for thinking people would drive and watch TV. And also i have to agree with you, It is extremely irresponsible and stupid watching TV while driving and yes you shouldn't have a licence IF you do. I do belive this mod is for passengers, traffic jams or for when waiting in the car etc...

Lol

Again, is that all you have to defend yourself against your stupidity??

You boys haven't got a clue have you? Even if I told you it was Proffessor Plum, in the Libary with the Iron Bar..

I'd like to see anyone of your excuses working at the side of the road with the plod... It aint gonna work!! Not never!!

Even more so when you stood up in Court trying to defend yourself after mowing down some poor bugger on a motorbike that you never saw cos you were to interested in whose just been kicked out of Big Brother. "It was the kids watching it 'Honestly' your magistrate.....

Or what happens if it just so happens that one day the car ends up sitting in a ditch somwhere where with you/ your family unconscious (or worse), and the plod arrives only to be greeted to the TV blatting out the intro to the Simpson's in the middle of the dash... Live or die? Your fucked mate thats what!!

It's agaisnt the law for a very good reason... It bloody dangerous thats why!! The smallest of distractions can lead to the greatest of accidents in a car (it happens many times every day). Yes we all flout the laws in one way on the roads but there are some big NO NO's and watching ( or having the ability to watch) TV and driving is one of them.

End of really unless you have something better to say??

I was merely pointing out that if you want to be taken seriously then spend a little care and attention on the composition of your posts, i also did reply to your point about leaning in the back. As Harper-D points out, and i think we all agree, one would have to be incredibly foolish to actually watch the TV whilst driving but as an aid to keeping the children occupied on a long journey it's very usefull. I would rather they sat quietly watching one of their favourite movies than creating distractions for the driver.

Well we shall have to agree to disagree then. can i just ask though, do you have children. mine are 10 and 7 and trying to keep them from tormenting each other through boredom on long journeys was a nightmare, truly a bigger distraction than having the TV turned on

Dave we live in a age of technology.... Screens in headrests, playstations 3's etc. etc. The world is your oyster (or theirs should I say), hell you could probably even get a hot tub installed in the back if you really wanted to.

You dont need a TV on in the front for the kids. Poor excuse!!

indeed but unfortunately the Nav-Plus doesn't have the outputs to drive additional screens. it would be nice to upgrade the system but i think we're missing the point of the original posts whereby the restraint of people who have done this mod has been called into question. i believe this forum to be one of the most mature on the net, quite a compliment to the people who use it on a regular basis. the members on here are as enthusiastic about their driving as they are about road safety. we're all grown adults and take responsibillity for our actions whether that's making a decision to drive above 70 on the motorway or to have a TV turned on whilst driving, each could be seen as being equally dangerous and illegal. personally i believe the individuals on here have enough restraint not to exceed the speed limit when circumstances deem it dangerous and equally are responsible enough not to watch a tv screen whilst driving.
