Todays mod........
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Todays mod........
I only had the car stock for about 6 weeks max prior to having it remapped. I would almost go so far as to say upgrading the brakes on a stock car would be a good idea. It's not the bite of them that is the issue, it's the fade persistant use sees. Upgrading the brakes on a K03 remapped car I would say while not essential, a good plan as I did not personally did not find the stock brakes acceptable as the dreaded fade seems to happen quicker and more frequently due to the use of the performance.

Just a small mod today:

Some clock rings.
Stop laughing at the back I said "CLOCK RINGS!"
On the right side of £30 delviered so no major cost really, just look quite classy I think.

YOu've got to be very very gentle to fit them (says the man with hands the size of a side of ham!!) as you physically have to break the plastic to get the front off, but do it slowly and when you glue it back, you'd never know.

Done mine too a few weeks ago, they are a right PITA to fit but I managed to do it without seperating the front and snap the rings in from the back. Would have been much easier if I did take the front off!! Took off the one around the DIS again a day later as I thought it looked a bit cheap and nasty and found that the sun used to reflect noticeably off the sides of the chrome ring on the DIS. Looks OK now. I might remove them though in the future as I always liked the "large" dial faces on the rev counter and the speedo, gave the car some meaning! The rings do shrink them a little!
There are 2 tools you need in life: WD-40 and Duct Tape.
If it moves and it should'nt, use the Duct Tape
If it doesn't move and it should, use the WD-40

If you have a spare few weeks you may want to search all threads on S4 brake info.
Might also be worth asking GrahamS4 for his opinion on brakes since he has a remap and standard-ish brakes.
Porsche Cayenne Turbo brakes on my fronts. Upgraded the rears too.
That's the ECS Stage 4, and Stage 1 Rear kits. I stop quick

Yep, hey're 18". Stuck them in the classifieds area as my 19" were supposed to be here today, guess its tomorrow then. General opinion is that im prob asking too much for the 18's, but said on there offers invited!AdamS4 wrote:Russ, What size alloys are they ? They look bigger than the std's

Cheers, yep decided to go for them. Need to get the 2 cv boots replaced as they are very split and chucking crap everywhere before I put the new bits on, def dont wanna contaminate the new brakes.s4-99 wrote:Looks Nice mate, so you went with the EBC discs and pads then? It will look well when you put them new wheels on too
