Couldn't agree more. All good fun though :D

Btw have you guys looked at using ceramic coatings on pistons and manifolds? coz we had some big gains, especially on torque, for not much money (during a rebuild of course  ).

Even looked at carbon driveshafts at one point

I thought it sounded a tad optimistic aswell, but I have no clue on the capabilities of these monsters. I am used to 2.0L 4 cylinders 1 big turbo and loads of boost, oh and 5 speed gearboxes too!!
The car has hybrid turbos, manifolds, full system, water injection, 19" wheels, cams ecu etc etc but as I am waiting for the full spec I cannot be too sure what it has / has not got and what it has / has not done. AFAIR the car is 509bhp? On 98ron pump fuel.

I had my exhausts ceramic coated, but not touched my internals at all, thats this winters project I think :D and cheers, I will bear that in mind, because, I am a great lover or torque :P

@ cossymad,
509 hp is possible.

D you know what injectors/fuel pump it has? If you upgrade these and get a FMIC you might be able to get 550ish like me, depending on the hybrids tho ...

PS. My mate got a carbon fiber drive shaft for his caterham, said it was a work for art, wanted to put it on his mantel piece

It definately has bigger fuel pump as I can hear it buzzing away under the car, and I can see the -10 braided hose underneath too. I am pretty sure that is not standard!!

Sounds like it has had quite a bit of work done to it!! Any idea who has done the work and the custom map for it?

So, I only managed 188.5. Only had one run at it and then we hit some traffic so had to call it a day.

It was pulling, but ever so slightly, in my personal opinion I don't think I would have reached 200 with the current power ...

How much more did you gain in mph over what you got at VMAX and what extra distance would you guess you covered?

I dont think I will get as much as 180 mph with this gear at vmax with the current power because of the distance factory.

Not sure of the distance, quite a lot I would imagine since once I got up around 180ish it was climbing around 1 mph per second or so, so not very fast and considering I am covering a mile every 20 seconds or so ...

My thoughts exactly.

I may try to top it out on the rollers first to see when it hits rev limit in 6th
and at what speed. Also ideal time to check the airtemps too. I have 265/30/19's so the rolling radius should be slightly more. I guess with enough power, the aerodynamics should not be too much of an issue.....
