Seat back sctratches
I have the Hi-Tech/Leather Recaro seats and the passenger plastic rear back panel has loads of scratches from I guess the previous owners kids feet!! Has anyone got any good tips on how to remove them or is replacement the only option? If so, how would I go about getting the panel? Would VAGparts have them or is it a scrappy job? Thanks in advance. Graham

Hi Graham,
Sorry I can't give you any tips on getting the scratches out, but I can tell you that I recently attempted to remove these plastic panels to run cables down the inside of the seats for some headrest screens.
After successfully running the cables I decided I didn't like the look so I ditched the idea. I didn't manage to get the whole plastic back-panel off, just enough to feed the cables, but even doing that I had to drill out a rivet located down the outside of the seat (under a removable plastic trim-piece) and then rivet it up again after. Most of the panel appears to be fixed under the leather somehow. Looked to me like a right PITA to get off, so I'd try to repair the scratches if I were you, or chuck all the seats out and then you can upgrade to full leather (the last suggestion was a joke before I re-ignite the famous leather v hi-tech debate).

Thanks. I had a good look at how they were attached and indeed it did look a PITA! I will look and see if there are any plastic repair products around but some are quite deep so it does not look promising. I reckon the previous kids must have been cowboys with spurs on!!
