I chased up the status of the information we submitted to Audi UK. I'm sorry this is like watching paint dry, but I try to ping them at least every two weeks.

I appreciate your efforts Phil. I did speak to Audi UK myself yesterday on another matter about a dealership but to do with my DRC. I tried to press the guy to see if any complaints had been logged by other owners but he said he couldn’t see that there was an issue with the setup and if there was Audi would look to sort the issue out…..how he didn’t know.

First post and it had to be on this subject!

Says it all really :(
On the positive side no arguments from Audi Macclesfield. Yes, it's the DRC. Yes, full warranty. Parts on order

my local dealer was very knowledgeable about the issue, put the car up on stands and show me where to look for telltale signs, and explained the symptoms. he said that there had been more incidents with the rs4 than with the 6, but that the rs4 system was easier to correct as it was split and not all-of-a-piece

Lots of people on the German forum had problems and after replacing it with a nice coilover like e.g. KW they never looked back. It transformed the ride.

I need to get my 2 rear shocks replaced under non Audi extended warranty, and I am sure I have read something about replacing the diagonally opposite shock at the same time (so I would need all 4).

Is this an Auid recommendation/requirement, a sensible precaution or just idle gossip?

Thanks

Grant

this is an Audi fact..they have to be changed in pairs diagonally..also the accumulator (valve) should also be changed..
then the whole system pressure tested and bled out.. let me know if you need any prices for parts or labour..

Actually, the diagonal shocks dont have to both be replaced unless leaking (altho it makes sense to do them all),.. you can replace both fronts or rears only.. but you MUST replace BOTH accumulators/central valves if you do so.

The B7 RS4??

Not saying it's not possible or never happened, but i've yet to hear of a problem with the B7 RS4 DRC.

@HyOctane..im not sure if things are diff for the USA market but i have it on good authority that they have to be done in pairs and diagonally..
the Audi dealer i worked at has a master tech that does nothing but RS6,s and i trust his knowledge of the dredded DRC..just ask tombs..he sorted his car out..

They already have problems with the B7 RS4 DRC, dealer I use just replaced a damper. Note that they are easier to work on and diagnose as each damper is isolated with its own valve.

Events have not been positive:

- DRC issue list submitted to Audi
- Audi technical gave no response
- Change of Audi cutomer service management (That was driving this)
- Had a chat with an Audi representative at ADI, and he suggested a path to raise visibility again
- Action is on me to chase Audi _again_..... :(
