Haha, that's probably a good idea :D

Regarding the noise of the turbos, I most certainly do not want a loud car  The whole reason for me looking at the Audi is that I don't stick out like a sore thumb, I just don't need the hassle that a scooby/evo brings. I had the exhaust replaced on my golf before Xmas and it sounds like a herd of bl**dy elephants, gets really tiring on long journies. I wouldn't mind if I had asked for a loud exhaust, but it was meant to be the normal one.

I thought it was strange that this owner mentioned the noise of the turbos, because I basically couldn't hear them at all in the other one I test drove. Was nice and quiet (well as quiet as you'd expect from a 2.7 bi turbo) and I would think that's probably going to be the bench mark for all future viewings.

I'm inclined to go for an S4 that is standard and make my own decision about a remap. Coming from a 2.0 8V golf is will be be plenty to be getting on with and I can always get it remapped should I feel the need in the future. Just got to find one now that fits my criteria and isn't 200 miles away. :D

My word the car market is slow at the moment :( I'll be glad when August is over and people get back from their holidays to sell their S4's.

Zero turbo noise would be a bit worrying IMO.. seized turbos are deathly quiet, I was surprised how loud the car became with the K04s in, yet everyone else comments that car is muted and quiet inside.

The car I saw wasn't zero turbo noise, but it didn't sound out of place to me. It pulled well and if that is how the car performs without turbos I'd be astonished ;) My dad has a SAAB turbo, which I know isn't in the same class, but it sounded similar to that so I use that as a judge.

Either way, there seem to be so few of these things around at the moment I'm struggling to find anything to look at, let alone buy. I'll give it a few weeks and hopefully the market will perk up again once everyone has finished their holidays.
