Tyre Pressure Monitor Setting via DIS
Good morning all. A quick question for you.
When removing a wheel, and then putting the wheel back on (after deflating and reinflating the tyre), I'm assuming that I'll need to run through the procedure for resetting the tyre pressure monitoring on that particular wheel.
The instructions for this in the owner's manual are pretty oblique (on my reading, at least). Can anyone out there please post a step-by-step idiot's guide to doing this? I know it's all done via the (flat-bottomed) steering wheel's "set" button and the DIS but your help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi, what I did was inflated the tyres to the desired pressures when cold and then go to menu, tyre pressures and then store tyre pressures and let it store.
No problems since.

This is correct, I am running 40PSI front 36PSI rear at the moment.PetrolDave wrote:Open the drivers door and read the label by the locking pin - that tells you the tyre pressures for driver only and fully loaded on 18" and 19" wheels and summer and winter tyres.Adam wrote:are they really 41psi all round (heavy load setting)
Every time you change any tyre pressure, you will need to "Scan" the pressures. Within the menu select tyre with a tick, this will initiate the "Scan sequence", leave it to reset it's self back to menu (usually reverting to lap timer), then change the setting to what ever you like.

tire pressures
I just purchased a new set of Michelin Pilot Sport PS2s. Both these and the original Pirelli P zero rossos I ran on my RS4 stated 41 psi for each tire. I simply confirmed the 41 psi at a tire shop and stored the current pressures. It turned off the TPMS warning. They also say that if you've confirmed your tire integrity and pressures that you can go ahead and reset the system (at least the U.S. one) by driving for 20 min. or attaining a speed over 50 mph.
Re: tire pressures
Lee I just don't understand that, just select wheel in the box and tick it, the car will scan log the pressures, job done, AJLeeJR wrote:I just purchased a new set of Michelin Pilot Sport PS2s. RE: Re: tire pressures
Thanks everyone - I worked out how to do this on Tuesday evening when the car started bleeping at me when the tyre warmed up. Lee, as audijohn has suggested, just go to "menu", then (from memory) "tyre pressure", then "wheel change".
thanks Dave - I got the 41psi at each corner off the drivers door sticker - this is the recommendation for 19" and heavy load - the manual recommends the heavy load setting even if you don't carry loads, and the light load setting if you prefer a smoother road. I took this to mean the higher pressure gave a more sporty feel but sacrificed some comfort so I went for that.PetrolDave wrote: Open the drivers door and read the label by the locking pin - that tells you the tyre pressures for driver only and fully loaded on 18" and 19" wheels and summer and winter tyres.
thanks, I know how the "set tyre prseeure" thing works on the DIS (very clever it is too). why do you run 36psi at the back? some sort of handling advantage?audijohn wrote: This is correct, I am running 40PSI front 36PSI rear at the moment.
