Not fixed ESP!

Post by s4sean » Fri Jul 27, 2007 7:36 pm

Nuts,
Just fitted 4 new tyres.( Not just for this ESP issue, because of all round wear.)
And...
My traction control still kicks in at about 5000 rpm in second gear and every so often in third!
I have VAG com but there are no errors.
With the ESP off, all is fine, so I don't reckon it could be anything to do with the engine management.
Any ideas how I can test the traction control?
I have tried logging wheel speeds but that cancels out at about 18mph.
Annoying because I like to have the ESP on, it's proably better at it than I am, but, I have to switch it off to get decent WOT overtaking!
If there is nothing else I can do with VAG com should I try jet washing the ABS rings?
Or just take it to a specialist?
Or worse is this a stealer question?

Thanks guys

It's either ABS rings or ABS sensor....normally it will show as an error on VAG-Com. Worth talking to Doug at MRC to see if he can have a look at it.

Perhaps monitor the ABS speeds (I think you can only do this at slow speeds) and see if they match?
